Description: | Tekstyle presents one of MTL's foremost contributors to our strong minimal techno scene, performing live on his laptop. Deadbeat, who performed as part of the MUTEK showcase for Berlin's Transmediale festival in February, as well as at MUTEK 2002 in a webjam with Berlin's Monolake, has been hard at work in the studio recently, collaborating with Montrealer Steve Beaupré to create Crack Haus (releasing 40 oz. funk on Force Inc.'s Montreal Smoked Meat compilation), recording EPs for local labels Revolver and Cynosure (slated for June and July release, respectively) and singles for Force Inc.'s Deck the House Remixes and MUTEK's 2002 Compilation. Proponent of a style he describes as "music for underwater sleeping parties," extremely popular in Europe's experimental milieu, Deadbeat conquers German labels with Right as Rain on ~Scape's Staedtizism 3: Instrumentals compilation, and two tracks on A Touch of Class' Welcome to the Crack Haus EP. Joined by resident Sarcastic for a creepy tek voyage. |
