Opening your trenchcoat infront of preschools has nothing to do with what he's looking for. |

/ Start unexpected diatribe/
Don't mind Ben, he's just an overgrown boy who feels lost in a cold, and seemingly empty world. I think the proper term for him would be "manchild". A manchild in our day and age happens frequently when a grown man is stuck in a state of perpetual teenagehood, there jaded malaise with the modern world has been crystalized into a form of bitter wit which they use to lash out at a world they so desperately want to connect to but are incapable of because of there own deeprooted sense of inferiority. At some point in the life of a manchild there was an attempt to reach out at the world, to claim himself as an individual - but he was most likely severely reproved for his attempt at individuation. Not ready to cope with the pain, the manchild internalized his anger and sense of loss stunting his emotional growth until he learns how to own up to his feelings of inadequacy. Perhaps it was a failed love which set Ben off into the road of the lonely manchild, or maybe it was an unfortunate brush with authority? Or perhaps he's not a manchild at all - perhaps he just acts like one for kicks and jollies. Perhaps. *scratches chin and looks out at the sky with a deep contemplative look on his face* Or perhaps not. For those of you who have trouble recognizing the not-quite endagered modern manchild, here are some easy clues to look out for : They often have a glazed over expression which is coupled with a moral detachment from their surroundings. Unable to escape a seething bitter and cynical outlook regarding life, you can often catch the manchild employing many status-modifiers in order to seperate himself from an ever present and arbitrarily chosen "them". The manchild finds it hard, if not impossible to connect with people as individuals due to his lack of sense as a person in his own life, as such he finds it imperative to negate other peoples individuality. The Manchild has a simple mind, if you were to peer into the manchild's brain you would see that everything was seperated into the following sections "This sucks" "That sucks" "You suck" "They suck" "Those [noun] suck" "Everything sucks" "Read apparently hip and jaded magazine selling cynicism as a lifestyle" "Be violently cliquish and territorial" "Lie back against wall, smoke cigarette, look uninterested in the world around while insulting [noun] and being cynically hip" Hey Ben, maybe it's time you stopped trying to live your life like it was a music video and actually started *EMPATHIZING* with people? I mean, maybe. And a few final parting shots for you. Please grow up. You're supposed to be an adult, and as you happen to be my elder I'm supposed to look up to you as a model of adult behavior If I act like an immature brat who knows everything, it's one thing - I'm still a kid. If you act like an immature brat who knows everything, it's another thing - you're old enough to have a kid. And lest I seem biased against you, you should know that personally I think you have the qualities of a decent guy, you're intelligent, you have initiative, you're fairly responsible, you stand by your friends (though it's possible you don't connect with them. At least you're loyal). I don't dislike you as a person, I'd actually even be able to get along with you - If you stopped acting like a giant penis with arms who'se always tossing shit at other people. Don't take yourself so seriously. Chill. Relax. Take it easy. Go on vacation. Quit your job. just do something to loosen up. / end long and weary diatribe awaiting possibility of a violent reproval +apologies o Ze'ev for hijacking his thread ^_^ / |

scipio.
well, i spent minutes considering what you wrote. i considered how i would reply, i considered doing a counter-analysis... would i claim that you're an extremely intelligent yet socially disfunctional megalomaniac? no. i realized that analysing someone based upon the internet presupposes a level of cognition i am not capable of. much of what you said of me was true. much of what you said of me was quite false. your preoccupation with age is facinating. i hold age to be arbitrary, you obviously do not. the fact that i'm old enough to have children seems to be an important element of your diatribe. i find such preoccupations to be rather short-sighted. a question to be asked is, who are you? what drives you? what is most important to you? what makes you laugh? for myself, i am ben. i am driven by indignance towards the injustices of the world. ( if it means anything to you, i am a libertarian socialist who hopes for an anarcho-syndicalist economic structure within which worth and value would be synonimous. ) my friends are most important thing in my life. i pick my friends carefully, and i love them. your claim that i did not connect to them would have been insulting if i respected you. many things make me laugh, most a propos is being snide on the net. when chilling with friends and talking 'bout net shit, we share deep belly laughs. i love those. scipio, who are you? |
