4 Elements And The Rave Scene?

i gotta say, i think the rave and hip-hop scenes are pretty closed minded, though there are many people who have love for music, i find there is alot of hate for different music types, and little leeway given to getting into these musics
seems as though people are interested more in ONE thing until the NEXT big thing appears and chages their mind for them... but then again, there is stile plenty of different tastes going on, and i'm always finding new stuff that sparks interest diverse while being plain at the same time WHOA - Keanu |

As far as I'm concerned, the "rave" scene (i'm assuming we're referring to trance, acid, hhc, and the like) is very different both musically and culturally from hip hop. Of course there are people who are interested and involved in both, but I wouldn't expect hip hop at a rave any more than I'd expect, say, rock music at a rave (though 2k4 sorta proved me wrong there heh).
Jungle does act as a bridge between hip hop and raves, because jungle seems to be culturally more similar to hip hop, yet has its roots in breakbeat hardcore. Still, I think its kinda a stretch to have candykids and hip hop heads at the same party. Then again, like you said, throw in some E and anythings possible :) |

Youd be surprised.
At my first rave (Kemal II), I saw some guy decked out in da Bling-Blang, vibing to infected mushroom. And he wasn't the only one... (Just like you said) 2k4 had a mix between hip-hop & techno I have many other examples... Unfortunatly this beer is limiting my references. Preety much what I'm saying, and what this thread is about: Is that you wont find Electro and Hard Rock in the same room, but people still may listen to them and appreciate them just as much a person who is devoted soley to one style of music. |

man, that was great. Watching that thing crawl around with a knife through it's head asking for it's mom.
I really wish Laura would have let me cut off it's face and staple it back on. |

Well, to get back to hiphop and electronica...
Even if these scenes are very different, they both had an influence on each other, at least in the beginning... No? |
