I don't know how your week is going so far...but if it's anything like mine, then you've been eagerly anticipating some vinyl to ease the stress....no more pain....here's the musical novocain.
[DRUM & BASS] D.Ecco & Sabotage - A Better Tomorrow EP on Frequency. After conquering North America with their own Terra:format imprint, Denver natives D.Ecco & Sabotage lend the UK a hand with this eagerly anticipated double-pack. Who else but legendary Andy C would pick up these guys, for his Frequency label. 'House Music VIP' is obviously the standout tune as it's been nearly a year in the waiting...and it turns into fucking HOUSE in the middle. But don't sleep on the remaining dancfloor killers: 'Only 16', 'Staring At The Sun' and 'Last Night'. Break & Squire - The Filth/Rooted on DNAudio. Ok, I know you guys have no idea who these guys are, and I suppose that dropping the name Silent Witness won't mean much either, but I'm gonna give it a shot. These guys are set to blow up. I myself have been opening sets with Break's collosal 'No More Sounds' for some time now. Basically this guy can flex any style he wants, whenever he wants...whether it's the more break-driven rollers for East Side, or full on tech shit for No U-Turn he kills it every time. Think about it, Nico (No U Turn), A-Sides (East Side) and DJ Ron (DNAudio) can't be wrong! Oh by the way, did I mention KLUTE has already signed 4 more tunes from this crew to his wicked Commercial Suicide imprint? Don't sleep. Boylan - Everybody/Underground on Square One. Right now you're going "who the FUCK is Boylan?", it's ok, I don't know him either...but i DO know Square One...and so do you, that's right it's all coming back to you now eh? Bad Company's label...yeah. They don't sign crappy tunes...so why don't you just accept their good judgement and give this SICK bassline a try? Gridlok - Heatwave/The Ripper on Violence. Wow. I haven't even had a chance to absorb the power of this tune. Heatwave has been causing a serious commotion over at Blue Dog thanks to Stabba rinsing the fuck out of it on CD. But even HE's gotta grab this on vinyl...you know why? Cuz he supports the artists he loves you know what i'm sayin'? Don't settle for the MP3 people...own a piece of HISTORY. Stakka - Heavy Load EP: Part 1 on Cargo. The only reason Heatwave didn't get 'tune of the week' status is because of this little monster. If you haven't heard me dropping this tune over the past 2 months, maybe you've heard me REWINDING it. No shit, I haven't gotten this good a response from a large group of people since I stopped slicking back my hair...and that was pretty fucking good. 'Hit n Run' from Stakka & Gridlok is nothing short of an anthem, and if you don't own it you suck. Stakka & Nu Balance drop 'Knuckles' on the flip. Militia & Concord Dawn - Steam/The Railroad on Militia. As if Stakka, K-Tee, Nu Balance & Friction aren't enough! Add a heavy dose of Concord Dawn and you get pure chaos. The flip really does it for me though 'The Railroad' is absolutely stunning with it's rolling breaks and pulsating bass, only a fool could fuck up this tune in the mix....buy on sight. DJ SS - S Files Part 1 on Formation. The first in what will probably be a 2 million part album. SS finally gives us the goods, his massive squelchy anthem 'Stress Related' is here and so is S' House, while hard to pronounce, it definetly shows some dexterity on the somewhat formulaic Formation sound. D.Kay - It's On The Way/Space Quest on Soul:r. That's right...it sold out. [BREAKS] Klaus 'Heavyweight' Hill - Northern Lights/Inside Mind on Mob. DJ Fixx - Cocked n Locked/Freakin Out on Bottom End. Unknown - Nobody Listens To Techno/Can You Feel It on Superbreaks. DJ Quest & The Break Fastaz ft. Ken Mac - System Overload/Ken Mac & The Break Fastaz - This Way on Cyberfunk. Various - Sound Off on Fuel. The original that started it all...featuring: DJ Tokyo - Soul Oddity (Tipper's Troll Mix) Cold Fusion Mafia - Nystagmus Tipper - Donut (Radioactive Man's Pull-up Mix) S.I. Futures - Eurostar (Tipper's Mix) More on friday.....peace, Corey K DNA Records 28 Pine Ave. East Montreal, Quebec (514)288-9DNA [ www.dnarecords.com ] |

i agree with eldee...
DNA IS FUCKING FAR.. you just so happen to live like what , right around the corner... not far for you obvioulsy... and either way pieces of plastic in cardboard sleeves being sold by you arent worth that much to me anymore.. when a good track i LIKE comes out ill make the trip all the way down there... if that day comes of course... i await it! ( impatiently might i add) and yes Thailand my dear Corey is VERY far. But i have no choice but to go there... and stay for atleast 1 year or more....( no choice there either)but like i said it isnt exactly a choice |
