| Coolness: 146115 | no not Salsa....Samba.....the Brazilian music and Preach's track has like 2 latin influenced tracks that he produced but I'm pretty sure you're talking about the Merengue one.....but I guess you don't know the difference...iss all good. |

| Coolness: 146115 | hey....you better be winking....it's afro-latin...ok!...there's a huge difference and a difference between each style too......and now that I listened to Preach's tracks...all the latin ones are from Merengue.....but it's Porto-Rican merengue, not Dominican...you know like Elvis Crespo and that song "Suavemente"...yeah, there's even genre of sounds according to country's like Citys in electronic music.....like Detroit has a sound so does Chicago or UK and their House and etc...
anyways, is the Preach track the one on Marco Bailey's label? MB electronics? The EP is called "against winter"? |

 Coolness: 50215 | yeah I find that interesting about music that each city or location has its own take on a syle of music you see it in most forms of music... not only electronic music I fond this fasinating its like how mexican food in mtl (if you can call mtl mexican food mexican is another queston) is a very different beast from mexican food in say san fransico...
a great example of this is the difference between detroit house and chchago house detroit stuff really has that funky dirty sound to it where as chichago has that big rough sound to it... and NYC house has that gangster disco sound and in the UK its all big hard beats... where as in france is all funked up and jazzy... of course there are many excpetiont o the rule but i find this stuff to be very interesting... I guess its my background in anthorpology and sociology comming up that makes stuff like this interesting to me |
