One of my favorite techtrance labels takes a step towards new sounds with this new techno release..
1. Dimas & Martinez / The Death Of My Soul 2. Karim Shaker & Simon Garcia / Descarga! 3. Paul Jackson / The Push 4. Marco V / Mila 5. Disco Slickers / Slicky Disco 6. Chris Cargo / Visions (Dirty Dub) 7. Vinny Troya / Spiders 8. Alexander Kowalski / Belo Horizonte 9. Justus Kohncke / Jet ________ I really like the first three tracks, the fifthed is nice, but the vocal gets annoying.. BUT, this song, Mila, is being used by many artists these days in remixes of the song.. @ infected mushroom, preach played one of the versions.. :) so house people, take a listen HERE and tell me if it meets criteria. hehe.. :) |

Belo Horizonte was released as a 12" on Kanzleramt... which is one of the labels I've been picked up lately - their output doesn't seem to be as experimental as it was when they had guys like Morgenstern (r.i.p.), Slip and Sattinger on there... too bad...
btw - there's an old (old!) Heiko Laux record on this label called U-Turn that was released under the name Monobleeding. It's seriously bizarre shit that goes into the territory of early Warp's bleepy-techno, but replaces bleeps with piercing frequencies. Awesome. |

odd footnote... I did an interview with Kurt (Jethrox) from DropBassNetwork ( [ www.dropbass.net ] ) in the fall on 1996. At the end I asked about labels that he was interested in, and he mentioned No U-Turn... I hadn't been following jungle at all, so... for about 6 months I thought he had some kind of a grudge against the U-Turn label. I think it all got sorted out at the Heavy Mental party in Minneapolis in the spring. That show was sick. |

long live german techno labels.. hehe..
for marco V, its pretty much the only song i have/heard/realised-it-was-him-who-made-the-song, therefor i don't know just how trance in da pants he is.. hehe.. there's not much trance in this version.. for Belo Horizonte, its kinda like ska-house i'd like to say, but its probably just called loungy house or something.. has some funny sounding trance, but the techish sounding highs save the tracks progression.. :) i find.... |

I saw marco V on some musicplus thing and he was playing what sounded like some pretty 303 heavy trance |

yes Ive heard of marco v unfortunatly for me that is... ;)
I had to play at some party in detroit back a few years ago that he headlined at... YUCK as for laux I dont knw man most of his produced music to me is pretty lame... hes a great dj really know how to work 3 decks know how to keep the vibe going for a long time track selection is great he even a nice guy but his productions are kind of lame they dont really go any where.. in fact the same for most of the artists on his label Kanzleramt (correct me if I wrong but he runs this label at least thats what I swear I have read some place) music thats probally very dj oriented more like tools then tracks to listen to... I would be courious to hear his early stuff that you just talked about colin... |
