yeah well I'm sure Kriss will agree also....I sing that Neophyte track to him now and then...the one that goes "Ah yeah, I feel hardcore...heeey ah yeah always hardcore." and it makes him cry.....but I laugh......and I cry inside....all for the same reason...because gabber is so "rugged".....seriously... |

Carlos - you should learn the one that goes "I'm a raver baby... so why don't you kill me." |

I use to love Incubus and it's the only "real instrument"(wtv that means) bad that I ever paid to go see.....sadly they were playing along side The Monotones!....I mean Deftones hahaha.....anyways, that was before they turned EMO.....I mean, gay....what's wrong with me today? :b |

oh god! this topic is turning me EMO!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!! |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» Violence_Inc replied on Thu Jan 15, 2004 @ 11:34am |
deftones so didnt turn emo. what happened was chino got fat and his vocal chrods got lost in his fat throat. Also wtf he picked upa guitar, ya steph shouldnt have let that hhappen. Chino should stick to sing. Around the fur still the best album by deftones.
And when i say instruments, obvious synths, and drum machines are included. Ok ill make it more clear, non electronic music. happy? |

nah I meant Incubus but I also didn't mean it at all....sorry for making you was some postage there hehe |

ya when i say the lead singer of incubus on seventeen as teen heart throb i knew it was all over. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» fishead replied on Thu Jan 15, 2004 @ 9:32pm |
I never listened to Incubus... that smarmy guy on the cover didn't do anything for me... they remind me of that old, crap band Extreme who picked someone to rip off on every album. Maybe the guy from Incubus will end up fronting Van Halen... who knows.
Refused kicked all their asses anyways... they broke up, too... but The Shape Of Punk To Come is still worth owning. For real. |

azazel: when I do stuff with erik and oliver we use midi keybaords and a lot of the stuff in the songs is played live... but I guesse that isn't real instruments |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» Violence_Inc replied on Fri Jan 16, 2004 @ 10:15am |
haha scott i rephrased what i meant for this thread...i corrected my statement about real instruments...and said this is a thread about non electronica...
Refused fucking kicked ass! i loved them the minute i heard of them back in the day...and they were right, it was the new shape of punk to come...before their time...im not too big on the noise conspiracy...but they are decent |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» fishead replied on Fri Jan 16, 2004 @ 4:19pm |
(International) Noise Conspiracy isn't bad... but it's a very different sort of beast - one that's got a lot more pop music ties... Incidentally The Lost Patrol is a new project by Dennis Lyxzén of Refuse/T(I)NC. It's an acoustic one, though. |

with The Locust. That should be a sick show... I've been kicking myself for missing them both last year. |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» soyfunk replied on Sat Jan 17, 2004 @ 1:54pm |
i saw the locust last time at foufs. pretty intense! people doing the seizure dance all over the place
and so for spazzcore/screamo/whatever, there's so MANY of them i'll just mention the ones i listen to regularly, we have: Charles Bronson, GodStomper, Pig Destroyer, Uniter SuperVillains, Yaphet Kotto, Jerome's Dream, Orchid, Racebannon, Yacopsae, Vivick, usurp synapse fun stuff if you just wanna twitch around your room and do the helicopter saw these guys Outbreak from Maine (on Bridge Nine records) the singers pretty demented |

Locust was the same night at the µ-ziq show, if I remember correctly. I played at the SAT that night, then dropped my records off at home and made it to Sala in time to catch most of the µ-ziq set. I was kinda ticked that I had to miss Locust (there's so many nights when there's nothing going on - and then you end up with nights with too much to do... and that wasn't even a weekend)...
[fate of] Icarus did some pretty fucked up stuff - their second cd features a Venetian Snares remix.. and one of the members of [fate of] Icarus now has a breakcore project called Dev/Null that does some pretty insane stuff. I've been caning a track of his called Bolt Thrower In A Chinese Restaurant that came out on a 7" on the Sprengstoff label. |

well foufs as a venue for a band like the locust is pretty ghey... the bouncer was almost gonna tackle this guy for trashing which is stupid. i don't gotto show to wear band t-shirts and stand around trying to look good like most the crowd there.
i didnt hear the album they did on Epitaph; even Converge just got signed to Epithaph... wonder how that's gonna affect their sound anyways the Locust show with dillinger escape plan should be cool neil perry from usurp synapse did some solo stuff worth checking out anyone familiar with 'Japanoise' bands apart from Melt Banana? |
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» fishead replied on Sat Jan 17, 2004 @ 9:54pm |
I'll let you know what the Converge album on Epitaph sounds like - I'm pretty sure I'll be hearing it shortly.
As for 'Japanoise' bands... you mean stuff like Ruins, Boredoms, Keiji Haino and such? I followed that stuff in the mid-90s - but have paid more attention to the likes of Merzbow, Masonna and Aube since then. Boredoms, however, put on an incredible live show... and Eye Yamatsuka was friendly when I met him in Minneapolis in '94... although I think he only understood a couple of things I said... the conversation was something like... me: I really liked the show yesterday. ye: Show? (moment of silence) YES!! Good! me: The Praxis material you worked on was really cool. ye: Yes... Praxis. Thank you. |

as i've mentioned countless times; the last converge show here in montreal was a religious experience for me... loved hearing 'the saddest day' and 'homewrecker' live
i trust anything Converge does is with intergrity, even on epitaph if anything help Jake Bannon promote all the great artists he has signed on his Death Threat label such as Integrity's 'To die For' album i'll peep all those japan artists you mentioned although Boredoms sorta lost me in the past.. prolly not the sound i was looking for at the time |
