first: ipod wasn't a revolutionary device.
there were already plent of HD mp3 players out there before apple made one.

second: i was merely pointing out that this is compressed music. so. it's just another mp3 player. wow. i can get an MP3 CD player (much cheaper) and be able to burn shitloads of MP3 CDs..

this product is anything but innovative.

mp3 cd players are not that great... using cds combined with decoding mp3s is painful for a battery ...

I am getting a portable MD player/recorder soon becuase they are awesome portable recording devices... pop in a mic and you have a good tool to record nature sounds or whatever, we have had a lot of success using concordia's portable mics and md recorder that erik gets his hands on sometimes

Recording with MD isn't that recomended. You can't "download" from a MD, you need to plug it in and record "analog" through a line/mic in.

it's the best option besides a dat... if you have a good soudcard the quality of the recording is fine... We did great stuff at eriks with an audiophile and it all sounded crisp and clean

except that if the t mic is plugged directly into ther MD you get the extra noise of the unit in the recording so you might be best to use that mic with an extention so that its not plugged into the md directly or to closely to pick up the md recoding noise...

neil..
