| And on top of the addiction potential, there's things like how much it fucks up your body. The cleanest meth is worse than the dirtiest speed you can find. And then there's the things like, it's fucking corrosive, and you can't hold the smoke in or it'll start melting your lungs and cause hemoraging.
Comparing meth to moderate drug use is like comparing checkers to russian roulette. Sure, they're both games, but one is not quite like the other... |

| Hayley, no offense, but if you beleive that meth is not as dangerous as we have suggested (using scientific evidense to back up our claims) than why don't you make an argument as to why we are wrong? frankly, i have never heard an arugment of why meth is safe, so why don't you provide us with one.

| i never said it wasnt as dangerous. i just dont think u can fairly compare one drug against a dozen others. every drug has its own set of repercussions and every person will react differntly to a specific drug. I think your overly generalizing. And the comment about the dirtiest speed cleaner than the cleanest meth is not true. Why you might be led to believe that is that meth is extremely corosive, yes. but it had hardly n e cut because otherwise it wudnt crystalize. It cant have impurities in it. Thus making it actually a reather "sfe" (for lack of a better word) drug. (despite all the obvious ramifications associated with methamphetamine, amphetamine, and jjust drug use in general) |

| Even if crystal meth doesn't have any impurities in it, that doesn't make it "safe". For lack of a better word? The only word that applies is "pure", which doesn't imply safety. Would you consider pure cyanide safe because it lacks cut?
I do understand what you are saying with regards to every drug being different, and different people having different reactions to them. However, there ARE objective criteria one can use to evaluate the relative safety of certain drugs, and these criteria include:
1. addiction potential. how difficult it is to stop, presence of withdrawl symptoms, etc
2. neurotoxicity. Does the drug actually damage the brain, and if so, to what extent?
3. ratio of recreational dose to lethal dose. its fairly easy to OD on H, while almost impossible on, say, weed
The point I am making is simply this: some drugs are far, far safer than others. Maybe we can't completely quantify and compare all drugs on a scale of danger, but its pretty clear if you look at the overall effects of meth that it ranks up there among the more dangerous substances. |
