hmm tough question. last year was easy... Momentum is DEFINITELY up there... YosePH i thought was MAD dissapointing for Vibert plus isnt techno... but the morons called it "acid techno" on their press release.. what the fuck? it's trip hop. acid jazz. break beats. downtempo. anyways, still a decent CD from a production genius.
DJ Rush did some shit i really liked this year... so did DJ Godfather... i dont really feel like they qualify for EP of the year though... it's so hard to remember a whole year of tunes. spent a lot of time buying old shit also this year. Honestly my favourite albums were : 1. RZA, Birth of A Prince (Sanctuary) 2. Disco D, A Night at the Booty Bar (Tommy Boy Entertainment) 3. Three 6 Mafia, Da Unbreakables (Columbia / Sony Music) 4. Monolake, Momentum (Monolake) 5. DJ JS-1 & Dub-L, Ground Original (Yosumi) 6. Bonobo, Dial M for Monkey (Ninja Tune) 7. Chris Clark, Empty the Bones of You (Warp) 8. Nas, God’s Son (Columbia) 9. GZA, Legend of the Liquid Sword (MCA) 10. Stinkmitt, Scratch ‘N Sniff (Teenage USA) and not all cause of artistic merit (especially no. 10)... but anyways that's the EXACT same list this fucko Steve Lalla wrote in the Hour that comes out tomorrow. what a dickhead. biting my shit off ravewave and then printing it. |
