[ www.....how ] Romanticist your replies are.

okay, let's enact the situation; The employment is not in North America, nor in the European Union, nor in Industrial parts of Asia/ Oceania.

You are going in a Third World country where all the modern common necessities are not readily accessible. Dass right; pre World War 2 plumbing (or not any plumbing), nor any clean running water, diseases that was conquered last century in Western nations are still rampant and would dig to party in your body. No internet, no 5$ moccachino coffee place, no parties(well not like raves), no mass telecommunications.

Not to mention current local polical strife, post civil war despondency, various tribal clans on the verge of ethnic cleansing or slaughter i should say.

You don't get a great salary, nothing abundant to bring back home. You will work (or volunteer) for Oxfam International or maybe UNEP, United Nations Environment Programme.

They usually paid in accordance to the local rate in the country you are in. Since the majority of nation states live in poverty and their Gross National Product is far less than Wall Mart, your pay is NOT alot.

Your living spaces is nothing to rant about either. You don't know anyone other than fellow workers, and you won't know the local languages. Life will be hard, but rewarding. It will be a challenge of a lifetime.

I'm not only asking if you would like to leave Montreal.
I'm asking if you would leave the life you know and discover real world culture and maybe to learn more 'bout yourself.

think about it again. I did. It is hard to come to a conclusion.:|

I wouldn't leave unless I can bring my technology with me. I've already gone through enough crap to discover myself, it's about time I get a break and have some comfort in my life.

A friend of mine is leaving for Kinshasa next week end for Oxfam...

He's going with his girlfriend. I think that's the best thing that could happen in your life.

nope...unless it was the uber-job you've been waiting for...or it was something you truly want to experience, you feel it in your bones. Mtl is the only city in Canada i wanna live in, i'd get in way too much trouble in South America, there are way too many ways to die in Africa, Europe is basically Mtl, Oceana is..welll that would be cool, Asia is wayyy to strict for me......ummmmm if i could chill with the polar bears, maybe.

Tibet, the Ivory Coast......maybe Australia....in general though, I enjoy the fact that I have eveything i need. Don't forget that when you travel, the food you enjoy is not always accessible....where the hell would i get veggie chilli dogs?
