Proud To Be A Veggie Cook

...I've been a vege-head for a couple of years now(no meat, no chicken, no fish), and think it's kinda an up and down sorta thing. If I don't have a certain amount of protein or other needed nutrients in a week, I get really tired, low on energy and sluggish.
But, if I eat well durring a week, I usually feel like a million bucks! In general, I'd have to say that as a vegetarian(on average), I have a little less energy. But I feel a lot better in some ways, since I stopped eating meat... ...course, not that it really matters anymore these days, I think whatever you eat, unless you live on a farm, you're pretty much fucked. I've had tons of conversations in the past couple of years, about GMO's and transgenetically modified tings, and whatever, truth is, I don't think anyone really has a clue as to what the long term side effects of eating that shit is... Ufot-again intestinal disintigration! |

Cat youre making me hungry!

I gave up meat a few months ago and haven't looked back since. I still eat fish because I don't have any sentiment for them, tho its probably not very environmental to do so. I tried the veggie thing in highschool and it didn't last long cuz i wasn't educated enough, but now I am and i'm proud of my decision to not eat meat. Its better for your health and the environment. I don't even think its right to eat/drink dairy products (i drink soymilk now) but i can't give up cheese. It will have to be my guilty pleasure. |

Fish is great, I would never give up eating fish...
I could probably give up eating birds, but I don't want to. |

Unless you go vegan and eat out of selected farms, you're bound to get nasty stuff in your food.
But still... not encouraging big ass food industries that kill this planet is still a beginning. |

Mcdonalds is shit.. All their food is mush..
Everything It's all soggy and mushy, and it doesn't taste like real food. Hamburgers should taste like MEAT, french fries shouldn't be SOGGY. |

last night my friend and i made i huge batch of veggie chili.....soooooo yummmy =)
My only problem is the cost, i'm veggie and try to buy all organic as well which is CRAZY expensive...but worth it. As for the whole energy debate, I'm turning 30 in two months and meat eaters at work who are 5-6 years younger than me say they don't have the energy to go dancing anymore, they feel old. As long as I eat well, i have energy....it's only when i run outta food that there's a problem but that's got nothing to do with meat...it's called starvation. =P |

Perogies: defrost em in the microwave, fry them in the pan till golden. Sprinkle with fried onions and salt, dip in sour creme. Voila. And soooo yummy. |
