Do you think that the controlled use of psychedelics could benefit our society?

Discuss.

Here is my theory, which borows heavily from Jungian pholosophy:

1. Within our minds is located a vast resource of knowledge of which we are not fully aware of. (Jung's collective unconscious)

2. Human creativity and development is the result of becoming aware of and externalizing this knowledge.

3. Psychedelics allow the conscious mind to become aware of the material of the unconscious mind, including the collective knowledge of the human species. (Jung's shadow material)

4. Thus, psychedelics can be used as a catalyst for human creativity, development, and progress.

5. Thus, psychedelics should be prescribed to intellegent and creative people to facilitate the evolution of the human species.

I find I am more creative when I am not on drugs (except caffeine). I tried making a song on mushrooms a few years ago, and trust me, it got weird.

interesting topic.

i think its a cool idea and i agree for the most part with poisoned candy, but i don't think it would work.

although while you are high SOME things may seem like they make sense....but in reality, they don't. Ever try writing down what you are experiencing/think about while under the influence of psychedelics/entheogens?
when you are sober...its jibberish.

i think maybe in the future with some alteration of the drug there could be a possibility.

but for now, its too unorganized. remember that you ARE high, you may gain some enlightenment in your mind, but you also lose a lot of your regular reasonable thinking abilities.
