i'm defragging my HDs, this is SO FUN!
i think everyone should defrag at least twice a week to be on the safe side.

you don't need to defrag much if you have ntfs.. if you have fat32 then you do

uhh..

i dunno bout that, i've got 3 drives, 2 NTFS and 1 FAT32..

the fat 32 is my backup drive and it's the newest drive.. and it's the most fragmented one.

You probably have tasks running in the background still. You need to have NOTHING running, because if there's anything reading from or writing to the HD, it has to start over again.

sometimes you have to just defrag multiple times untill it does it all the way..

thats if you have shit running like me.

i refuse to kill 10 of my bit torrent downloads. hehe

Why is it that after I defraged, it still says "It is recommended that you defrag"?

how come?....I mean, I wait untill it says that the defrag is complete...so I then make it analyze again, just for the heck of it and it says that it's recommended to defrag it.....isn't that weird?

btw Paul, that was very original....never heard that one before.....did the greeks invent that joke?

yeah, but if yer defragging your system drive, you'll never really be able to finish.

and if your defragging another drive, be sure you're not using anything on it.

r u saying that because there's always something in use while it's defraging?

'cause it is that drive that's always recommended to get defragged....the other one says it doesn't require defragging.

yeah well it can recomend it all it wants.. but that doesn't change the fact that it can't move files that are in use.
