Whoa. What a show.
Drama Society put on a not-so bad set. took a little while to pick up but they finally got people dancing towards the end of their set. Then Colder came on. Ohh boy. Talk about lack of stage presence. The bass drowned out the vocals (which were dull anyway) and I felt like I was watching lunchtime @ an old folks home. Fischerspooner came on (after like, 25 mins of setting up...). What a show. Over-dramatic and flashy to the max. Was awesome. I think it was a bit more toned down than usual, but it definitely kept everyone's interest. What's funny is that they really don't care if people know they are lipsynching...since, on several occasions, he took the mic away from his mouth to do something else. This show is all about the performance and costume changes. Then Tiga went on to spin a dj set after the insanity that was Fischerspooner. Something was BADLY fucked with one of the speakers or the mixer. Played a few really good tracks. Soon after, Blackstrobe came on, dropped a few good tracks including my fave from the Playgroup cd. About 40 mins later, Trevor Jackson came on and tagged with Tiga. I expected a bit more out of Trevor Jackson, but he mainly stuck to Tiga's style of tunes..which was kinda disappointing - I wanted to hear a genuine Trevor Jackson set. Yeah...all in all, awesome gig. |

i really really really really wanted to go. but i won't pay 40$ to see a headliner who's only been around for a year, i would've paid that if he'd been around for 3 or 4 years.
it shouldn't have been more like 20$ perhaps even 30$ but not a penny more, BASSTURDS! :x |

Worth every penny.
I mainly wanted to see Trevor Jackson, and was really disappointed that he tagged with Tiga. Metropolis was an awesome venue for the event, and I think the problem was with the mixer was Tiga's set - and not the speakers. Y'all missed out big :P |

the reason, turns out, why Trevor Jackson's set wasnt so good was because Blackstobe had all his records, and they didnt arrive in Mtl until about 1am. |
