Yeah, that's the oroblem. If you have a DVD player then you should have an AC3 codec. If not, it's like super-easy to find. Most codec packs should have it. |

As long as no one trades Metallica albums in AC3, 99% of the population will have no idea what it is... Also, with all the "big names" that have invested in MP3 players, do you really think they're gonna let a new format take over?
Hell, OGG is much better sounding than MP3's, but like, what, 5 people use it? |

yeah cause ogg is only marginally better.
AC3 has much much smaller file sizes and sound excellent. |

HAHA!
I got that Nimo pack. now, Classic Mplayer plays everything upside down and on the reverse side. Winamp still doesn't play the DIVX5 AC3. I think I have too many players. What do ppl use as one good standard player for shit? |

use mplayer2.exe w/ the nimo pack.. but i made sure the nimo pack didn't install any garbage filters |

damm..
I know there has to be conflicts all over... So... clear all the shit. get mplayer2 and I should be good? Fred... mpayer classic... is it better? (more stable...more options...more compatibility) why? |

I prefer Mplayer Classic because, if you've installed the codecs for Quicktime and RealMedia, then it'll play them without needing to load up the Quicktime or RealPlayer software, which is usually slow-loading and glitchy. Mplayer Classic is also less strain on the CPU because it doesn't use super-fancy graphics and buttons and what-not like the standard Windows Media Player.
Just about the only diffrence between Mplayer Classic and mplayer2.exe is the Quciktime/Real support, and a few small customising options that 99% of the population wouldn't notice/use anyways. Also, I've recently started getting slightly anoyed at Mplayer Classic, because it seems that on a few movies, if there's a little "graphic" glitch, like artifacts or stuff, it crashes if the movie is done in the latest DivX 5.1 |

ya, i prefer m-player cuz it plays everything. and it's free. all the other programs are too snobby. and only play thier specific file~ |
