I'm seaking some help just doing a quick test/possible patch on a php based affiliate tracking program, if anyone has any experience in this, contact me asap. It's something that shouldn't take long to fix, and I'm willing to compensate any individual who can do it today! it was a question of being able to properly track click's, and verify that they are authentic sales, so that affiliates can't fool our system, cause we all know how honnest online marketing affiliates can be... anyways, for the future though, it'd be kool to see a small section listing ravewave members who have programing/technical abilities, wut those are and how to contact them... that is unless those of you who do have skillz don't want to make money through contracting... Ufot-the itch kill, but killed bill anyways... |

| Coolness: 60380 | generally, a sale is paid for by credit card, paypal, online check or some other form of online payment (epassporte, stormpay, etc).
if false information is given or there are insufficient funds, the transaction will be declined and it won't count as a sale. of course, fraudulent methods of payment can be used (ex. stolen credit card numbers) but the merchant will be advised of the fraud. if the merchant has a good tracking system, they'll determine which affiliate referred the sale and if they have an abnormal fraud transaction rate, they can be cancelled and payment can be withheld. |

all that is the affiliates responsibility. The affiliate then has to report that sale back to site where the user came from. |

You're talking fraud at the point of sale. I'm not. I'm talking reporting sales to whoever is paying you for paying customers. |

| Coolness: 93800 | To I am death= The way an affiliate knows whether or not it's a valid sale that he/she will get comission off of is by loggin into the affiliate backend on our site. We do tracking through pixles on our skyscrapers and pop-unders, the click's are tracked directly from the first click, to the successfull transaction page, once the sale is finished.
Our problem was that our backend couldn't distinguish between repeated numbers through sales. We needed to ensurse ourselves that no affiliate could refresh on sales numbers so as to earn false comission. To Nymph= I realize that most of the programer potential that posts on this site may be doing stuff for fun, but the kinda young raw tallent that these kids have, could and should be put to use whenever possible so as to build experience, and even help them earn a little extra cash. I personally think it's a good idea, afterall, one of the greatest benefits of the internet is the ongoing possibility of interconnectivity. I would never try to turn any part of this site into some kind of [ monster.ca ] scenario, nor would I start any bidding wars either. But in my line of business, contracts come and go, and I'd rather higher someone close to my own age, who lives in this city, any day over outsourcing it to some firm or far away contractor.
