Since my school is oh-so-conviniently (VERY sarcastic) located off of this vile, dirty and smelly street, I usually resort to its restaurants to feed myself. Some fellow classmates and I decided today that every monday, during our lunch break, would go out to eat, but every week at a different place. Today was Pizzédelic's turn, fucking good but expensive for what we got. Anyhoo, next week I thought of Fou d'Asie, since im itching to try sushi and I'm wondering if it would be a good place to pop my sushi cherry!

Any advice ?

tip: if you are looking for affordable food, stay away from sushi

Paul: Fou D'Asie is good, it's actually where I started eating sushi. :) As wrong as it sounds, I seriously recomend the eel, it's worth a try, and that place makes AMAZING kamikaze rolls. Order anything with Tempura, and give the fried banana desert a shot.

when you're in a mood for thai there's
Thai Cuisine
on st-denis between de maisonneuve and ontario
it's upstairs and you can see the balcony is all lit up
not expensive, big portions and very good..

my suggestion:
try the porpilas and then pad thai
when I share that with a friend, it's perfect.. and costs us 5$ each

i don't know why you consider st denis to be a vile and nasty street... i mean, how can you say that when it hosts such a friendly and sophisticated restaurant as lafleurs?

shameless plug on my family's restaurant!

Citizen ( asia food ), 1670 St-Denis, right next to St-Sulpice.

At lunch, it 8.50$-10$ special*, thwere are like 8,9 dishes (most known thus order by most folks =/
includes salad or imperial roll.
There are tastier stuff on the menu tho; if u like seafood, try the squid rings (like oignons rings) with beer.

*xcluding tax, drinks, n tips.
