A Good Reason To Change...

| too cheap and just plain-ass broke are 2 diffrent things. I'd love a midi controller, but I can't afford one. Either way though, I'd just want knobs and sliders, no keyboard unless I'd get some synth racks, because I can't play keyboards worth shit. If anything, the midi controller I want will cost me too damn much. A roland GK-2A pickup for my warlock, and I'd need a GK2A-to-MIDI controller, which is like 300$ and the pickup itself is 170$
You shouldn't NEED a hardware controller of some sort to use software properly unless you've got a studio, and then the only thing you should be using is Pro Tools. For someone just using a computer to make music in their room or basement, making software that requires hardware is pretty stupid. Not everyone can afford them. |

| most people who can afford a 1500$ computer can afford a 200$ controller...
All pro sequencers work much better with a controller? Are you saying all of them suck ? Even fruityloops is pretty fly with a controller...
For playing melodies or chords it is 10x faster and 10x more effective... The only thing that even comes close in speed terms is a tracker interface. |

| I don't understand why peoplw don't love Reason interface cause i really love it. i was working with fruity loops a few years ago and i never loved the interface. The cool thing with Reason is the way it show you the racks. I have to admit that since i have my midi controller, working with Reason is sooooo fun. It's more instinctive.
For the sound problem: produce your stuff with Reason, Rewire it with Cubase or whatever, finish the job in this software and i'm sure that your music will sound great. |

| I seem to recall something about how Reason's volume meters look like regular volume meters, but they're actually a lot lower than they say they are, like, +6db is actually 0db, and it's done like that so that n00bs don't have to wory about clipping because they're hard-limited at 0db.
The only thing I don't like about the new FLP mixer is that it's small as fuck, but I'm running 1600x1200 on a 19" monitor, it looks alright on my laptop at 800x600. They should make a "large" skin for the mixer. |

| spooky: heahea its weird u mention the size cuz i got the same prob i have a big big resolution so its all looks small but at least i can see it all in one without having to scroll of flip some kind of pannel haehaeh |

| I totaly Agree :) man, if my 2nd monitor was a 19" also, I'd love to be able to stretch fruity over onto 2. :) one for aranging and storing all the VST panels, one for composing and editing :)
ahhh.... What I wouldn't give for a *3* monitor set up :D |

| what i would give to have a computer, faster than mine, man....
my comp is a slow peice of garbage
i get so frustrated with it, thats why i have so many un finished tracks, cause after a couple hours my comp starts to die when i use reason..
it's probably also due to how corrupt one of my hard drives is |
