| people say music should be free? then how would artists survive. maybe what you mean is music shouldn't be so damn expensive. people resorted to downloading off of napster because cd's are so expensive in comparison to how much it costs to make one. as for vinyl, it is expensive to put music on records so i guess the price is appropriate |

| In responce to the idea that if music was free to listen to artists wouldn't survive...
music has been made for thousands of years, and recording music and selling it is relatively new. Artists obviously can and did survive without relying on selling recorded music, by making money off performances. I think today we have too much emphasis on recorded music and not enough on live music. Any music lover would gladly pay to see live music because its simply a comepletely different experience than recorded music. So really I hope that the future of the music industry is listening to whatever you like for free on the net, then going to see the music u like live. |
