Read more..." oh golly, don't you hate when these tiny security flaws just pop up..? what i find funny is all these major security falws exist right now, they just become aware to the public one by one.. basically if someone actually found a vulnerability and didn't tell anyone about it, odds are he'd be able to comprimise a lot of servers without problem. MS is so dumb sometimes. |

Windows is easier to exploit because a monkey can run windows and even if you know all the "tricks" to set windows up to be the most secure box on the planet, it's still badly coded and anyone with enough knowledge can find something to exploit. |

 Coolness: 67230 | its not impossible to turn a windows box into a Fort Knox. Thing is, 99.9% of all "vulnerabilities" are the result of PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair). Bad files get executed, viruses spread, patches aren't applied.
A classic example was the SQL Slammer that tore up most of the internet for an hour or so in January and disrupted everything from bank machines to airports. The SQL Slammer worm took advantage of an exploit that was known about for SIX months, with several patches available. But lazy system admins didn't apply those patches and the worm wrecked havoc. Was the worm the fault of microsoft? Absolutely not. Microsoft did its job, released the updates, no one bothered with them though. This also goes with *nix based software and OS's. Exploits are much easier to find since everything is open sourced. Just look at all the SSH exploits. |

Now about this security Issue, Unix based operating system are more Stable then Windows Opersating systems but Stable doesn't mean secure. Most sysadmin install Linux and Think there box is MAD stable and secure. |
