Should License Be Required To Go Online?

FINALLY! I'm so fucking sick of people not knowing how to update their virus scaner and windows, and getting phone calls at 2am asking me how they're suposed to type the windows CD key in the little box (hint: there are 5 boxes and the key is split into 5 5-number codes) that I for one COMPLETELY agree with the idea. People need a licence to go on the internet, because n00bs are what's ruining it.

yes, as i've said to alex..

"only those who are l33t computer programmers may be allowed to use computers, anyone else deseves to have their computers hacked and destroyed for their ignorance of the technology they use."

but. . . WHAT ABOUT THE ARTISTS!??
heheh just kidding.
i don't need to update my virus scanners or windows thanks to my mac.
it does it for me~
:)
but as far as the online liscense goes, i think thats sketchy.
even more easy for people to bust "file share-ers"

people shouldn't need a license to go online.... They should need one just to use microsoft products.

I mean... if you forced them to all use linux or mac os X then there would be no problems...

erm..

i dunno bout everyone else but i find linux to be a lot more difficult to use, specially if not running a GUI on it.

There are some things that go on, with viruses and retarded things that more than anything is just taking advantage of people who don't know wnough of the technology to even get by. Anyone who knows what they're doing, set up Black Ice Defender as a firewall and watch your log. I get over 300 people an hour that are port-scanning me with that fucking blaster virus and various other self-replicating viruses that would never spread if people knew how to set their e-mail protection settings. There are too many people who don't know even the basic terminology of things on the internet.People who don't know what ports are, people who have no idea what IRC is, who don't know what a URL is and you have to TELL them it's a website address before it registers.

And Dino, know, I wasn't born with the knowledge of how to use computers. But at 3 years old (summer of 1984, I was born in november 1980) I was using an 8086 PC with DOS and I didn't even learn to speak english untill I was 6-7. But when anyone's grandmother who can't even program a VCR get online to the internet with AOL just by hitting "next" a few times because they don't know any basic maneuvering through a computer confguriation menu to set up an internet connection, there's a problem! Viruses spread all over the place all the fucking time because of people who don't update windows or set their protection settings high enough or don't use a firewall.

it isn't the job of the simple users to stop viruses it's the jobs of the OS programmers to make the OS's their building secure.

it's not the faults of the computer idiots of the world, but instead those who write the viruses and those who write faulting applications for the idiots to run.

it's like blaming someone who was driving a badly made car for crashing into the wall of your house cause his tire popped off, when it was actually the car manufacturer's fault.

Wow I just learnt what a URL is. Seriously. Spooky should shut up :p I don't need a license. I've never wreaked any kind of serious havoc on the net b4. So I'm technologically behind, that doesn't mean I should be restricted from having a little ravewave fun.

People should need licenses to have babies. Now there's a good one.
