Hey all, been hard at work writing tunes, refining techniques, promoting online, building contacts, and sending out demos to a bunch of labels catering for the slightly harder side of things. Gotten to the point where I'm basically happy with how my ideas manifest themselves musically, but the focus has been mainly on engineering. Hopefully noone will be too displeased with the clarity and overall quality of these 128k mp3s. Managed to upload a couple of recent tracks that have recieved some really positive feedback...

*Night Curtain: One of the darker,
atmospheric tunes I've done.. Relentless
roller with infectious stabs, eerie pads,
and sick modulated reece bass

*Alteration: On more of a funky,
experimental tip, but still (somewhat)
geared for the dancefloor. Subliminal
transition between the two vibes.

*Pitfall(clip): Still workin on this one...
High energy riff-based tune loaded with
stabs and crazy effects///. Still needs
loads of work.. some of the levels are off
(especially that rediculous pitch-bending
thing, lol).. just thought I'd put it up to
give you all a taste of what's to come:-)

*Texture Change: Also still in the works..
Kinda simple and minimal... all about the
filter and pitch LFO modulation on the
mid-range bass giving it that teebeeish
funky feel...

So, yeah... that's basically everything I have online. Trying the push the dnb at the moment. I've made a few breaks, hip hop and house tracks... I'll try and find the time to upload em soon.
There's also few collaboration's I've got
planned for the near future.. not only with
Montreal producers and vocalists, but also a
couple of rising stars in North American
dnb.. Backstab (Gamma Ray Recordings,
Chromacide Recordings, Waterloo, Ontario),
and Plejik (Ohm Resistance, and :pending:
release on dara's BBS, Woodbridge,
Virginia). Should be interesting....

good stuff.. I like turning point the best...

Suggestion: the sound is clean but a bit dry, maybe a little aux send reverb here and there might make the sound a little more lively. That can especially make quiet parts do more justice.

Thanks very much for the comments people:-)

@ Scotty: Your tip is a good one. Some of my sounds really do need more of a 'tail' on the release. I almost always use the Trueverb plugin as a send effect in Cubase, it's a bit transpearent but I find it gives the necessary separation required to push melodies and pads further back in the mix without any loss of sparkle from high frequency damping. I'll try ultraverb next time with a longer decay...

@ @trix: sorted

@ Aone: sorry dude... yeah there's too many producers to mention. I've listened to a few of your tracks and you have some brilliant ideas and sounds. Just a matter of making em sound big, crisp, and clear (oh and lay off the panning of kick drums, bass and everything below about 150-180Hz). If you plan to press your tunes (to vinyl) in the future... everything below 150-180 Hz will have to be mono and panned smack in the centre... otherwise your engineer will go mental at you and accuse you of trying to sabotage his $20,000 lathe. Anyway, big up and keep it up bro. Looks like we'll be working together in the near future.

@ Mr TwistED: Cheerz m8:-) hit me up on msn if you want some tunes critiqued.

@ Dom: me doing well, and you?

@ 24 and Miss Amanda: Thanks for comments... glad you seemed to like:-] Hopefully I'll Be seeing both of you around and about.

Again, thanks to anyone who's been checking out/supporting my music. Will keep you all posted.

subtonic : thanx for all the comments but nothing i dont already know mannn these tchoons are old and i know that drum panning is fucken stupid cuz drummers dont run around with their drum set but i tend to leave the kick in the center now heahae! thanx for the technical infoz i think i have a sheet somewhere with panning info on how each part of the drum should be pan and eQ'ed ! im kinda happy tho someone finally notice quality and actually technical knowledge to say why its not quite DA shiznit :D
cant wait to hear your songs too bad im on a dial up and its not my computer so itll be for latah ! peaceee
