I urge you and every other internet geek to get your asses out of the house and experience the music and technology industry first hand and not behind a computer monitor. Go to Steve's, go to Solotech or even Moog and you will see the STR8-60. In stores it used to sell for about 350$, i know this because i wanted to get those last summer.

Yeah, I know they have them elsewhere.

And also, you told me you were looking at the STR8-80s when you got your tables. :)

Like many people i thought i didn't need Technics 1200s to begin with and I didnt wanna sacrifice a whole summer for some gear. I started looking at the 60's, then the 80's, almost got those, but then i got a good deal on a Technics so i opted for that. I wanna mention though that Stanton DO make good tables. The 60's and 80's are good, but also the str8-50 is kinda impressive, its a belt drive but it has a lot of fucking torque for a belt. And believe it or not, the Ministry of Sound dj booth has stanton str8-100's !

If I had any clue as to what I was doing, I'd take a look at the new str8-150s. They doubled the freakin' torque and added a +/- 50% option.

Yeah those tannoys I bought off the internet were totally not worth it! :-p I agree though I learned a bit from playing with shit first hand, I only bought my midi controller after playing on it a bit and I hated the keys on the roland one so I bought cheapo evolution one which has the bouncy keys I like.
