My current mission is to create immersive sonic and visual experiences which can take a person right into the music, thus transcending the alienation and technocentric fascination fo the 'laptop musician'. Key stuff some of the places granny ark presnted work at in'02 and'03 were: "Threshold", Polli Talu, Estoni, The Zakk, Bremen, Germany, NBI, Berlin, Germany, the SAT, Montreal, Canada, and Signal and Noise 2003, Vancouver, Canada.(LivePA/video) Summer Tour 2003 coming soon: montreal, toronto, berlin, munich+ NOAH PRED Unceasing, ever-changing. A vastness of immense mountains, towering trees, and cold flowing waters. Neutral in the beauty of all its unforgiving cycles, the natural world is a primary source of inspiration for the music of Noah Pred. Attempting to translate the experience of life's rhythmic yet unpredictable essence to the contemporary dancefloor while employing the latest in digital music technology, the aesthetic is both futuristic and organic. Hailing from Canada's lush West Coast, Noah Pred emerged from Vancouver's underground as a sought-after techno DJ with a sophisticated sound and unique style. Producing dance music and performing live for over five years, he recently relocated to Montreal to continue his study of electronic music and to integrate his influences with a community of internationally respected techno artists. Under his FSP moniker, Noah has released music on esteemed tech-house label Nordic Trax, for their critically-acclaimed Necessary Pieces 2 compilation. Recording as Primordial Nature, he was featured on Deepen Discs' debut Night Vision EP, and has also released on Swedish label Audio Beyond. Under his own name, he has 12's appearing on Montreal label Consigned Recordings, and further releases scheduled with established international labels such as Choke Music, Immigrant Records, and Intrinsic Design. His releases have received international support, appearing on charts from such renowned talent as Carl Cox, Cari Lekebusch, Monika Kruse, Pascal F.E.O.S. and Adam Jay. As a DJ and live performer, Noah has played in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto. Quickly becoming a local favorite in Vancouver, he earned residencies with Chaos Theory, Tribal Harmonix and S.O.T.U. This led to headlining slots at clubs such as Sonar and Deepen, and performances at festivals and raves alongside international talent including Carl Cox, Derrick May, and Mark Farina. In Montreal, his first appearance DJing was for the prestigious Epsilon Lab collective. His well-received tech-house mixing style has led to further bookings with esteemed event producers Vibesensor, Tekstyle and Les Passagers, as well as a weekly residency at plateau hot-spot Les Folies. With a keen ear for new sounds, he also does A+R for Canadian tech-house label, Consigned Recordings. Known to push the boundaries of his musical form from designing new or manipulating existing sound making devices and software to creative uses of production environments and sound sources. Even though Neil's (naw) composition and production styles are diverse, he keeps a central focus throughout all his production: experimentation. Neil has released music under his given name and under the pseudonym of naw, on various national and international record labels, including releases on Noise Factory Records, Piehead Records, A/S Systems, Wabi Recordings, Future Rhetoric Recordings, Subversico, Ohm/Avatar, RRR and Total Zero. As naw, Neil has performed extensively along side a variety of national and international artists both in and outside of Canada. sarcastic The evil genius behind Montreal-based underground techno pantheon Level 4 Productions, this amorphous being has contributed to the subculture's cabalistic causes on many levels for the past decade. Possessed since childhood with a needling drive to splice together discrete musical compositions, first with cassette decks, microphones, CD players or 8-tracks, it was only a matter of time before an unwitting companion introduced Sarcastic to his destiny: the Technics 1200. His love for the chugging repetitive nature of techno, acid house and hardcore genres remains informed by an early appreciation for hip-hop, stoner rock, jazz and psychedelia of all sorts. Equally at home behind two or three decks, Sarcastic has performed at virtually all local clubs; he1s conquered the main room of Sona, Montreal1s longest standing afterhours venue, annihilated the main stage at Arrival, the city's largest outdoor festival, and, with the Level 4 Productions famiglia, has DJed and collaborated with numerous local promotion companies, including Nice Productions, Morphee, Renegade Legion, Alien Crew, Clonk, Kirk6, Aria, 514, etc., performing coast-to-coast across the country alongside such techno luminaries as Frankie Bones, Thomas Krome, The Punisher, Andrew Duke, Algorithm, Teknobrat, Granny Ark, OS/2, Miss Innocent, Yaz, Preach, DJ Kal and countless others. Describing his own style as 'tek', Sarcastic1s interests range from the dark looping industrial techno of label cohorts Kidstatik aka the Underground Shadow, the funky tek-house of Simmetrik aka Simon G., to his own tongue-in-cheek ghetto-tek productions based largely on recognizable samples from such disparate sources as movies, rap or funk. Residencies at Jai bar, Blue dog, Jingxi or Amnesia have seen Sarcastic spinning anything from pure tek, minimal and experimental techno to acid and deep house; some even surmise that Sarcastic plays hip-hop, downtempo and DnB under alternate guises. It1s downright impossible to pin down the numinous wiles of the Sarcasm. what is bleep BLEEP is a monthly electronic music experiment in the heart of downtown Montreal, bringing together two of the city's foremost promoters and innovators of cutting edge techno, Clonk and Level 4 Productions. Residents 'naw' and Sarcastic will provide both live laptop sets and DJ sets at each event, guest artists will showcase the freshest sounds that Montreal has to offer. |

let me explain this a little better:
its kind of lame to do up some thing promote the crap out of it ask headlining talent to come out to play and no one shows up... this city has a real problem when it comes to supporting local talent... its kind of lame even toronto folks support local artists better then montrealers its quite sad honestly... any how this is the last of the bleep monthlies but not the last you will ever see of bleep again we will reappear at some point and time again as steve and I like working together just not as a monthly... and just not for a little while as steve and I both have a lot of personal projects we need to attend to over the summer months... neil aka naw |
