[ Montreal.com ] The Moon is very pleased to invite Montrealers of all ages to watch its total eclipse on the evening of May 15, 2003 from the grounds of the Montréal Planetarium. This colourful show, playing in Quebec for the first time since January 2000, will begin at 10:02 p.m. and continue until 1:17 a.m. NB: The schedule is not subject to change. The only possible inconvenience may be the clouds, which could crash the gate and steal the show. But let's hope for the best! Detailed program for the evening: Starting at 10:02 p.m., the Moon will begin smoothly entering the Earth's shadow. Between 11:13 p.m. and 00:06 a.m., it will be fully covered by the shadow. During these 53 minutes, the Moon's surface will be lit only by the Sun's light, which takes on a reddish cast as it passes through the Earth's atmosphere, turning the moon varying shades of orange. It's sure to be an impressive show, and perfectly safe for your eyes! The Moon will then gradually resume its usual white colour, returning to normal by 1:17 a.m. Even though another total eclipse is scheduled for November 8, that entire show will last only 24 minutes. Admission to the show is free, of course, and it is suitable for all audiences. An excellent opportunity for parents and children to spend some time together and a great excuse to stay up late! The astronomers at the Montréal Planetarium will be pleased to help visitors use the telescopes that will be available. So welcome one and all—and bring your friends. The stage is high enough for everyone to see! |

but not as much as a spoon cuz thats more use for eating soup and a fork is not very useful for that unless it has got many vegetables and then you might be better off with a CHOP-STICK! unlike tha moon it is up in the sky its up there very high but not as maybe high as dirigibles or zeppelins or LIGHTBULBS!! and maybe clouds and puffins also i think maybe they go quite high too maybe not as high as the moon cuz the moon is very high we like the moon the moon is very useful everyone everybody like tha moon because it lights up the sky at night and it lovely and it makes the tides go and we like it but not as much as cheese we really like cheese we like zeppelins we really like them and we like kelp and we like moose and we like deer and we like marrmots and we like all tha fluffy animals!!! we really like tha moon! |
