Question About Memory & Cue Points On Pioneer Cdj-800 Mk1
Good [+1]Toggle ReplyLink» recoil replied on Mon Jul 18, 2011 @ 4:46pm |
I have a second-hand CDJ-800 MK1 that I rarely use. but I need to trigger samples with it for an intro of a mix I'm doing.. 3 different samples within the first minute, overtop 2 records..
is there a way I can program more than one cue point into the internal memory so I can just jump to the next one? right now, I'm searching for the next sample on the CD and resetting the next cue point manually, which is tedious - especially since I only have a few seconds to get the next sample ready I'm pretty sure the MK2 does, but dunno about this MK1 - anyone know? |

ok.. so ... top right of thecdj.. you have the memory button.... place your cue... press the cue buttom at button lft.. then press the memory button( top right) .. can do this to every cues you want... then just switch between them with the call button right under the memory one!!
hope i helped.. just dunno actually how many you can but at once... but its a beginning!! :P Update » the_pink_popo wrote on Tue Jul 19, 2011 @ 4:12pm oohhh.. just saw.. tha you saw that too.. lol. dont think you can set them before putting your cd in...

so? did you try out what she mentioned? I never tried multiple cue points with a cdj before...
I'm actually just re-examining Traktor right now, and learning the hotkeys for multiple cue point triggering n' whatnot. it's pretty fun! maybe you can just rip the 2 vinyls into traktor to play at the same time... while having a 3rd deck open where you can trigger your sample cue points... (if the cd option doesn't work out) and if all else fails, get that mpc you were supposed to get. something like that would obviously be easier to trigger samples on.

ya I tried to do the "memory" -> "call" thing on the CDJ-800 but it just seems to call up the last sample I set.
I really want a third turntable again. definitely comes in handy. I'll look into that Traktor hot keys thing. I havent really learned much about Traktor since I got it. I just used it to play some unreleased tracks with the timecoded vinyl but that's all I've done with it. I'm sure there's all kinds of cool tricks. and re: the MPC. good thinking. would be cool to use that. I still owe 200 bucks on it - lol. never got around to paying it off yet. as for the mix, I just wound up doing the mix and triggered the samples manually, but I have a feeling maybe the MK1 just isn't capable of storing more than one cue point. |

Yeah I used the multiple cues to death on serato, so I reckon it's even easier in traktor. Otherwise guess you gotta do it old skool style and make a couple cds with all your samples as individual tracks. Not a simple work around but for an old timer like you....
I'm feeling ez sessions monday wut! right now.. |

you can do some really mental shit when you get Serato and Ableton working together...
case in point... samples, tones and all kinds of shit... kind of fuckin' mindblowing.
