The letter inside said, “The Al-Qaeda organization has planted 160 nuclear bombs throughout the U.S. in schools, stadiums, churches, stores, financial institutions and government buildings.” It also said, “This is a suicide mission for us.”

The writer, who claims to be Osama Bin Laden, tells the reader the nukes are remotely controlled.

It cracks me up how every now and then, CNN will report: "...a new audio recording purportedly by bin Laden posted on Islamist websites ...".

Osama bin Laden was probably dead before the invasion of Iraq. I highly doubt he survived more than a year or two after 9/11, and probably much less than that. He may have died naturally from kidney failure, or been 'put to sleep' by doctors while being treated, or a bullet to the back of the head. who knows? but I do believe he's long dead, and his body will never be found.

The man himself issued a statement on September 14th, 2011 - published by CNN - denying that he had anything to do with WTC attacks. He blamed the 9/11 attacks on "...'a state within a state' in the American government." I know I've quoted that before but I think it's often overlooked. I really wish I could just link directly to the CNN article, but after around 2005, it seems to have been removed.

Normally terrorist groups - whether it's the IRA, PLO, ETA or the Stern gang - claim responsibility for their attacks, especially a spectacular strike. Half the reason for doing it is to make a statement that draws attention to their cause, however righteous or wicked that cause may be. I found it very telling how quick he was to blame the attack on a force within the American regime. His statement was so brief and to the point that to me, it seemed to have a ring of truth.

Well, they can't have someone like Osama bin Laden issuing uncomfortable statements like that. Or, for that matter, telling who his friends are in the CIA, the oil industry, and the Pakistani ISI. Far too much of a liability. The smart thing for them to do is secretly kill him, disappear the body, and keep his name alive.
