Though I don't think HHC goes with morning psy and goa :p Both hardcore and psycore can be great, like Jimi Hendrix and Loreena McKennit, they're differnt from one another but have a few things in common and are both perfect for different reasons. The genres are so broad that each producer has the opportunity to do their own thing with it. As long as it makes me feel. The party could have one room even but with a lineup like: * medieval folk music * deep slow psy like Asura etc * deeper harder psy but not full-on or psycore * psycore * psychedelic breakcore * breakcore * hardcore * slower weirder more evil hardcore * happy melodic morning music with the last song being breakcore |

I like it hard and dark. ;) I do like some dark hard psy, but that's as far as I go in the "trance" genre.

I do like full on psytrance, but for heavy dark stuff i want HARDCORE !
Regarding the subgenre, i agree with the dirtier sound for hardcore, but i would classify hardtek as generally slower, and tribe to be the stuff with a higher tempo.. but its just how i perceive it and the hardtek/hardcore sound i refer to 5/10 years old.. Anyway i'm not gonna argue about this at bootcamp and just dance !! Oh and by the way, hardstyle and happy hardcore is not hardcore, its just gay ! (imo) |

hardcore is not necessarily fast .. there is now a name for faster nastier hardcore too: terrorcore.
ugh, sub-genres ... anyway, what i've always loved about hardcore is that it's one of the rare techno styles that isn't defined by it's tempo (which is probably why ppl felt the need to divide it all up XD ) .. hardcore can be anywhere from 1 to 1 million bpm. no one cares, as long as there's some distortion in there somewhere .. ;) for those thirsty for a regular dose of HC, don't worry, only a couple of months left to wait ... =D

There was a brilliant opening of a party I saw once with a live electronica set blended with a lady playing a koto (japanese floor harp) before it got into heavier electronica later on. So great to open the night like that! The harp and flute and other performances at the opening of Psymind was so cool too! Originally Posted By moloch

I wasn't being judgmental against HHC or anyone who listens to it, I just didn't think it matches with the other genres in that list/room. It would fit better in a room with other styless IMO. You're just looking for any reason to pick me apart.. maybe I should remind you again to leave me alone. I'll go to whatever parties I want, thank you very much. |

Here, I'll be the bad guy.
Fuck HHC/Hardstyle. They should be removed off the face of existence. :)
