I have had the set for about 2 years....the Monitors have had very light use in the studio, the Subwoofer has been used a grand total of about 30 minutes, it is just too powerful for my 2nd floor apt.
They are sitting here taking up way more space than is needed, and I would much rather they go to a good home. Asking $750 for the entire kit. I am willing to break up the pair, in that case it would be $350 for the sub, and $400 for the monitors. I am NOT a highly motivated seller, in fact it pains me to part with my gear, so please no lowballers, as it is this is 1200$ in gear, that has barely been used. Now the kicker, I am also willing to trade with the right person. I am looking for: A mac mini (or Imac) that is a couple yrs old, and a home cinema system. Of course cash money is all good also :D Hit me up here, or at dbvaig@ezbake.ca Pair of Studiophile BX8a Deluxe - 130-watt Bi-amplified Studio Reference Monitors for sale. [ www.m-audio.ca ] Along with M-Audio BX10s - Professional Active Subwoofer. The sub appears to have been discontinued however here is the description M-Audio BX10s Details The affordable M-Audio BX10s active subwoofer is compatible with any powered direct-field monitor system thanks to its 50-200Hz variable crossover. The BX10s features a 240-watt internal amplifier in a compact, convenient package that drives a 10" composite driver that produces full, tight bass response for accurate listening. Speaking of accurate listening it also features a defeat switch that enables you to A/B your mixes with and without subwoofer. Great for smaller computer-based studios, it is also video shielded for use near CRTs. So, if you're looking for a bass-boost in your stereo or surround mixes, take the M-Audio BX10s for a spin - you won't be disappointed! Compact, Active Subwoofer Products like the M-Audio's BX5a and BX8a are designed to work well as full-range monitors. Yet when they reproduce bass-heavy material at high volumes, it can be both taxing on the speakers and fatiguing to the listener. However, when they're used in tandem with the BX10s, the system can comfortably reproduce full-range 20Hz-20kHz signals at any volume without stressing any components. To accomplish this, the BX10s employs a 10" composite cone of treated paper and fiberglass, custom reflex cabinet and a powerful 240 watt amplifier. While the BX10s is designed as a low-frequency complement to the BX5a or BX8a active reference monitors in a professional two-channel or multichannel system, it can integrate easily with any powered direct-field monitors. Variable 50-200Hz Crossover The BX10s accommodates the stereo outputs from a mixer, and the users' main monitors then connect to outputs on the sub. The internal crossover network of the BX10s splits the signal at a user-defined crossover frequency (50-200Hz), routing everything below it to the internal sub and everything above it to the main speakers. This significantly improves fidelity because the components aren't tripping over each other to reproduce the same frequency-and each only has to deliver frequencies to which it is ideally suited. The variable crossover makes it possible to tailor the bass response in a monitoring environment in order to achieve the most accurate acoustic response-and there are even easy setting for compliance with Dolby Digital®, DTS® and THX® specifications. Subwoofer Defeat The BX10s includes a subwoofer defeat function that completely removes the subwoofer amp, speaker, and crossover from the signal path-sending the full-bandwidth program to the connected direct-field monitors. By plugging the included SP-1 non-latching footswitch into the footswitch input on the back of the BX10s, users can control this function dynamically while playing back material-even from across the room. With the BX10s temporally bypassed, it becomes easy to judge how a mix will sound in an environment without a dedicated subwoofer.
