SCORB - Trick Music UK
Considered to be one of the most consistent and original artists on the psychedelic trance scene, Scorb aka Yod Onsen has been releasing music for over eight years. The eponymous debut album released on Ambivalent records in 2003 gained him international attention and a slew of releases on international labels have affirmed his position as a leading producer on the scene. Tight arrangements, infectious hooks and a phat low end typify the Scorb sound and the 2007 album "Ipso Fvcto" released on Trick music received rave reviews the world over. In addition to Scorb, Yod has a number of side projects; The bone crunching psy-tech of RAM with Lek Black (NRS), The dark progressive leanings of Squid Inc. with Deviant Species' Santos De Castro, pHibian; Yod's new hard techpsy project, Orzels Machine, a technobreakz outfit with Mike Rucinski and Prism with Arnaud Levasseur aka Concept! Things are looking tasty for 2009 with the releases of TRKCD002 "ABRA MACABRE", Orzels Machine and Squid Inc EPs and the Prism Album "Freedom 35"! As if that weren't enough, Yod is also a graphic designer, performing art and design duties for a number of labels, Including Ambivalent, LPS (Last Possible Solution) and Trick. to the left is a selection of CD covers designed by Yod. Didn't scorb play in 2006? Will there be another headliner and more of a variety in local DJs (apart from what we usually hear)? I'm glad to see the addition of zentrix. The flyer is very pretty

The flyer is very pretty I'd personally rather here the same DJs that keep up to date and ACTUALLY know how to mix, then taking the chance on new guys. Slowly the newbies can work themselves into the mix, but I'd rather hear the DJs with experience and who are active in the community. Spare a cigarette and kill a bum, hire a good DJ and save an eardrum :D And ... Scorb coming back is killer .. the average memory of a raver is 3 minutes :P + Scorb obviously has PLENTY of brand new, "never heard before" material for those who actually do pay attention to what music is coming out. Ady doesn't mess around. |

I just wanna clarify that I was simply comparing SOMA to SOMA
Almost every year they have brought 2 headlines, either in the same room or in another room they have often had a line up with half ontario djs and half quebec djs, in all the line up has usually been jaw dropping, and they have often promised a bigger and better experience than the previous year... I was simply surprised that the usual SOMA elements were not present, and that the event is usually insane because it's New Years. Therefore, I asked an honest question, it was probable that the posting was incomplete, simply by comparing soma to soma... Also, I was not referring to new Djs as in newbies, I meant as in never played at SOMA. I will just stop here since you will probably find a way to interpret a question into a negative comment.

Well .. I think it's mostly cause this year there is competition dividing up the scene.
More headliners doesn't mean more people will come. Just makes the ticket price higher. In which case, makes it more difficult for all the po' ass hippies to afford :) |

I've been talking about that for a few years now... every year we go out for new years and less and less of the peeps we use to dance with attend... I think it's mostly due to change in taste of music---the take over of prog :p
I'm feeling punkadelic right now.. |

also people hook up, have babies, and need to stay home to take care of them.
for the rest of us there's SOMA.

or noah's party with two rooms including psytrance :P
or the donjon including....... a long car ride, a family vibe, making collective food, a lot of snow and playing in nature and more than 24 hours of psy and chillout. too much choice, it separates all the people i want to see into three different places. i miss when soma had the three rooms, but...... also i understand that it's a risk to take, with so many other people organizing parties at the same time.
