Nightmares After E

Wondering how many people here have experienced this? For me, I can't even describe the dream, it's purely abstract, Salvia divinorum style, meaning totally unexplainable using words. It's actually more of a general feeling of pure fear and lack of control.
I think I used to have similar dreams VERY rarely growing up, but they have evolved. The closest I can come to describing mine is that some kind of gigantic sun sized planet (feeling of being overwhelmed) appears of out thin air next to me and the gravity just obliterates me, crushing me into it as if I were a single atom being split. It's kinda like sleep paralysis (where you dream you are a awake but can't move) except I don't try to move... I'm not even sure I'm even asleep though when it happens cause the dream generally takes place exactly where I went to lay down, except this crazy nightmarish abstract situation just takes over. it's like anxiety on steroids... weird for me cause 99% of the time i'm boringly normal :P Anyway, just kinda wanted to get that off my chest.. feel free to share your stories here

I fucking hate sleep paralysis. Or dreams that I've murdered someone in a horrible way. |

i get sleep paralysis when i didn't get enough sleep for a couple of days in a row... but i never got nightmares after E.
but i love and hate sleep paralysis. i hate it because it's scary, but i love it because it's led me into lucid dreams. and salvia... is one scary drug. i should try it again :P

I've experienced sleep paralysis once when I was a kid and by that time I was unaware that such thing was possible..
I woke up in the middle of the night by FOOTSTEPS. My parents were asleep but it sounded as if somebody was walking around the house with boots on. The footsteps got louder and louder, the 'presence' approaching.. little by little, really seemed malevolent to me for some reason. I was feeling chills down my spine, i tried to turn away from the door because I was facing it :/ but nope i couldnt, i was totally paralyzed by fear. Then after, i closed my eyes and prayed to make it go away.. and it worked! I guess i could say that praying helped otherwise it wouldve last longer maybe..
I'm feeling haha right now.. |

This reminds me... I used to have the weirdest dreams (wot else is new) when I was a kid and I realized I was dreaming every single time... I was about to die so I kept telling myself to wake up because my friends told me that if u die in a dream u dont wake up... which I believed.
But although my eyes were wide open, I was still seeing my dream. There was no escape, whether I was standing up, sitting or lying down, I could not get back to reality. Impossible to scream either, no sound came out at all. Pretty scary! Parallel universe?

Impossible to scream either, no sound came out at all. Pretty scary! Parallel universe? Sleep Paralysis. In a nutshell: when you're asleep, your brain cuts off your body so that you don't physically act out what you're doing in your dreams (this is also why most people who try to run away from something or fight in a dream end up with their actions going extremely slow). With sleep paralysis, your brain partially wakes up. The 'cutoff' for your body stays in place, leaving you paralyzed, and your subconscious is still "dreaming" and feeding visual information, despite your eyes being open. I've been getting this two to three times a month since I was 11 or 12 years old.

ya I only had sleep paralysis once thankfully. not very fun. I used to freqently have pretty crazy dreams. some of them were pretty epic - like little movies.. but others were just really bizarre In Montreal I had something weird happen ... I got woken up by a loud cracking noise during a stormy night. There is a big window at the front of the room where I had my decks and mixer set up. so I open my eyes and saw that a strong gust of wind had actually cracked the frame and pushed the top panel loose - so now a big pane of glass is leaning in precariously over my turntables. so I jumped out of bed and pushed the cabinet with the decks and mixer out of harms way, and tried to wedge the frame back in, then went back to bed to deal with it in the morning. so I open my eyes at some point later and look at the window.. and I realize that the window frame hadn't broken at all.. I had totally dreamed it. the window is fine. but I had still gotten up during the dream and pushed the cabinet away from the window. like sleepwalking.. very strange. so I go back to sleep. and then I woke up a third time.. I take another look and find that the cabinet was in the exact same place it always was, and hadn't been moved at all. so the whole thing was a double dream... very confusing - lol |

I used to wake up usually around 3-4AM in the mornings, at the foot of my bed was a big black figure wearing an old style fedora (you couldn't make out a face, etc just that it was a BIG shadow looked like it had a coat on and a hat) when I would sit up startled, it would step back into the shadows and disappear. This has happened probably 20-30 times over the past 15 years.
Now the only dreams I ever remember are 2 recurring ones I've been having since I was a teenager.

Personnellement, j'accorde a peu près autant de sérieux a l'interprétation de rêve qu'a l'astrologie.
