Think again.
Try this on for size and see how little effort is required:)

I think that's really the biggest problem I've got with guns; anyone can take a gun and, from a safe distance, kill someone.. They never have to put themselves at risk.. anyone can just kill someone with no effort over the tiniest of trivial arguments..

Knives or other close-combat weapons, you have to WANT to kill someone, because they can fight back; you have to get close enough for them to hurt you! You can't just flex a finger muscle and BANG, the person on the other end is dead and OMG WHAT DID I DO!!!
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

I see you point, but seriously, do you realise how hard it is to actually kill someone with a handgun?
I mean, takes mad skills to shoot a beercan at 30 paces.
Imagine hitting a moving target, in a lethal spot (of witch there is not much: Liver, Heart, Brain.)
Yeah, okay, might die from hemorage if hit anywhere else, but in an urban area, you'll make it no problem.

i was joking, i find the use of a gun to kill people really weak

i love guns for their power, shooting with those toys is mad fun, and of course, in a shooting range, i'll never shoot a gun at someone...

seriously, the thrill you get with that smoking killing machine in you hands is unique. Though if you are stupid enough to use it to harm people(even if they were created for that purpose), you don't deserve my respect.

and moloch, that's what im saying, guns (any kind), they destroy beans cans better than a picture of jesus holding a gun. :P

Yeah I guess it can be for a lot of people..

but this is the Nintendo generation here! We grew up with Duck Hunt and Lethal Enforcers, House of the Dead, etc.. Sure it's not the same as a real gun, but the aiming skills are there, just takes a few shots to get used to the heft and kick-back.. I've shot handguns and rifles a few times before, and once even with a couple of friends that are Canadian Army trained, and I could hit targets more often than they could and closer to the center/kill zones!

***the tea party is a new group of right wing conservative republicans that has surfaced recently***

but... but... why tea? It's a shame to put such a wonderful plant in this horrible context! *cries*

And for guns: I think the only decent use is for hunting. Hunting for food, and respecting those who gave their life so you could eat, and trying to use every part of the animal you killed.
No crazy hunting for "sport" or "trophy".

Teabaggers like to pretend that it's 1773 with a little 1861 thrown in. Most right-wing extremists fancy themselves revolutionaries, which is why they steal names from successful movements past. Now we've got a bunch of fat upper middle class conservative Americans naming their latest hissy fit after the Boston Tea Party. It's the whole "if you rename shit to something beautiful, it won't smell" principle. The "Heartless Conservative Assholes Movement" might be more accurate, but it doesn't sound nearly as noble as "The Teaparty Movement".

Haha, that's a nice essay. Unfortunately, logic doesn't work on (most) of the teabag crowd. For these folks, socialism and communism are simply placeholders for their own personal fears. The conservative conception of socialism and communism often has nothing to do with their actual definitions. Fifty years ago, whites dating blacks was "communism".

I never did get around to reading that Marxist classic "Black Cocks and Nubian Titties: Instruments of The Proletarian Revolution" . . .

People are stupid.
