Did Guru actually write the will???

Statement #1 supposedely from Guru, delivered by Solar before he died, hummm...

“I am doing fine and I am recovering! I'm weak, though. [Guru’s producer and longtime partner] Solar is the only person who has the accurate info on my situation. Any info from anybody else is false! ”

Statement #2 supposedely from Guru delivered by non other than Solar

"My loyal best friend, partner and brother, Solar, has been at my side through it all and has been made my health proxy by myself on all matters relating to myself. He has been with me by my side on my many hospital stays, operations, doctors visits and stayed with me at my home and cared for me when I could not care for myself. Solar and his family is my family and I love them dearly and I expect my family, friends, and fans to respect that, regardless to anybody's feelings on the matter. It is my wish that counts. This being said I am survived by the love of my life, my sun KC, who I trust will be looked after by Solar and his family as their own. Any awards or tributes should be accepted, organized approved by Solar on behalf myself and my son until he is of age to except on his own.

I do not wish my ex-DJ to have anything to do with my name likeness, events tributes etc. connected in anyway to my situation including any use of my name or circumstance for any reason and I have instructed my lawyers to enforce this. I had nothing to do with him in life for over 7 years and want nothing to do with him in death. Solar has my life story and is well informed on my family situation, as well as the real reason for separating from my ex-DJ. As the sole founder of GangStarr, I am very proud of what GangStarr has meant to the music world and fans. I equally am proud of my Jazzmatazz series and as the father of Hip-Hop/Jazz. I am most proud of my leadership and pioneering efforts on Jazzmatazz 4 for reinvigorating the Hip-Hop/Jazz genre in a time when music quality has reached an all time low. Solar and I have toured in places that I have never been before with GangStarr or Jazzmatatazz and we gained a reputation for being the best on the planet at Hip-Hop/Jazz, as well as the biggest and most influential Hip-Hop/Jazz record with Jazzmatazz 4 of the decade to now. The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time. And we as a team were not afraid to push the envelope. To me this is what true artists do! As men of honor we stood tall in the face of small mindedness, greed, and ignorance. As we fought for music and integrity at the cost of not earning millions and for this I will always be happy and proud, and would like to thank the million fans who have seen us perform over the years from all over the world. The work I have done with Solar represents a legacy far beyond its time and is my most creative and experimental to date. I hope that our music will receive the attention it deserves as it is some of the best work I have done and represents some of the best years of my life."

Anyone else smell something fishy here???...Its the "Any awards or tributes should be accepted, organized approved by Solar on behalf myself" that tipped me off

yeah...there's some crazy hate going on between him and premier in this talk too. I mean they have differences but I'm sure they've had good times too. Anyway my guess hes trying to protect some future loot for his kid. I mean, why wouldn't you.
I'm feeling indestructible right now..

I gotta say I was pretty surprised by that too when I read that tonite...

honestly man I never even checked Solar... I've heard the name but really know nothng about him..

it's kinda hard if not impossible to talk about Guru's legacy without talking about Primo

Gang Starr production (Primo) is so unique.. those old jazz and blues and soul loops with his scratches on top was what made me wanna get turntables in the first place, way back when

Guru did a solo track around 97 or so - with Everlast, and I personally thought it was kinda weak. they even sampled the same track that Premier used for "Just to Get a Rep", but without Primo at the controls it just wasn't the same

but pretty much anything Primo touched back then - Gang Starr, Group Home, Jeru the Damaja, Das Efx, Nas - was gold. definitely one of the very best producers of that time - anybody who was listening to hip hop in the early - mid 90s knows that

Primo is to Guru, Jeru and Group Home what Rza is to Raekwon, Method Man, ODB and Gza's first solo albums... he gave em a signature style that couldn't be imitated

and regardless of the jazzy stuff Guru did later, you ask anyone about Guru and they think Gang Starr

so to try to legally separate Guru's legacy from DJ Premier just doesn't sound right

what was the cause of the split? I tried to look it up but so far dont know why ... Bliss any ideas?

I don't know, it remains a mystery

I think its a classic haters scenario

Solar (not to be confused with Mc Solaar) comes into the game as Guru's new partner a couple of years ago

People keep telling him he'll NEVER be as good as Premier,

Which is a fact, that latest Jazzmatazz stuff was VERY AVERAGE, borderline crap

So as a result I think he poisoned Guru and Premier's relationship

So now Solar is basically trying to completely remove Premier from the picture cause he knows Premier owns him on every level

Thats why this whole letter is so suspicious, just read it

PS Solar even prevented Guru's own family from seeing him

There's a ton of shit going on, Solar is a fucking asshole that was preventing Guru's family and anyone else from going to see him in the hospital and shit like that.. Guru's Nephew made a few videos talking about it, asking people for help:

There's some really shady shit going on with Solar.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

wow - finally some statements from DJ Premier and from Guru's family...

holy shit... this guy Solar is seriously scandalous...

that vid Screwhead posted confirmed he was up to something, and now to hear that he wasn't even conscious at the time these "statements" were made..

this guy is next level fraud.

what kind of scumbag isolates someone from their family and loved ones when they are slowly dying?? and to then release false statements before and after their death... whoah

well, he's fucked up now.. he must be scared as hell

I think this track is very fitting for what this shady Mr Solar is up to:

"how far must you go to gain respect? ummmmm"

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM DJ PREMIER ON THE DEATH OF KEITH ELAM… GURU

GANG STARR FOREVER

IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME TO GET CONFIRMATION ON THE DEATH OF A MAN WHO I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL MY BROTHER, KEITH ELAM, BETTER KNOWN AS GURU OF THE LEGENDARY GANG STARR.

FROM 1988-2004, WE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH SUCCESS TOGETHER THAT WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR BUSINESSES INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE EACH OTHER WHAT GURU CALLED “CREATIVE SPACE”, BEFORE PLANNING TO REUNITE FOR OUR 7TH LP WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT. TRAGICALLY, WE WILL NEVER REACH THAT DAY.

I’VE BEEN ASKED TO COMMENT ON A LETTER SPEAKING ILL OF ME WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY GURU IN HIS DYING DAYS. ALL I WILL SAY ABOUT IT IS THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, WE BUILT A HIP HOP LEGACY TOGETHER, AND NO ONE CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY OR TAKE AWAY MY LOVE FOR HIM. ONE THING I WOULD NEVER DO IS PLAY AROUND WITH THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS LIFE.

I WILL CELEBRATE GURU’S LIFE… I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY… I WILL GRIEVE WITH THE ELAM FAMILY OVER HIS UNTIMELY DEATH… I WILL REMEMBER THE GANG STARR FOUNDATION AND ALL OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF GANG STARR WHO CAME BEFORE ME – WE ALL KNOW EACH OTHER… MOSTLY, I WILL CHERISH EVERYTHING WE CREATED TOGETHER AS GANG STARR, FOREVER. I’M GONNA MISS HEARING HIS SIGNATURE MONOTONE VOICE WHEN HE WALKS IN THE ROOM, BUT THE SONGS WILL ALWAYS BRING IT BACK TO ME….HIS RHYME FLOWS WERE INSANE, AND I WILL NEVER REMOVE HIM FROM MY HEART AND SOUL…….REST IN PEACE TO THE MAN WHO FELT “SATISFACTION FROM THE STREET CROWD REACTION” … I LOVE YOU GOO…….DJ PREMIER

Guru cannot have written 'deathbed' statement, say family

Family of late rapper Guru confirm that bizarre statement must be fake, as he had been in a coma since February

The bizarre "deathbed statement" from the late rapper Guru has been labelled a fake by his family.

The Gang Starr rapper died this week from a heart attack after months of ill health. He had fallen into a coma in February, but a letter that emerged saw him apparently tell fans he was doing fine. Moreover, Guru, born Keith Elam, appeared to distance himself from his Gang Starr partner DJ Premier in his statement, adding that "[producer] Solar is the only person who has the accurate information on my situation. Any info from anybody else is false!"To many hip-hop fans this seemed an unlikely political move from a seriously ill man.

Now, a statement from Elam's sister confirms that the letter cannot be authentic. Stopping short of referring to the words themselves, Patricia Elam confirmed that Guru never regained consciousness after lapsing into a coma in February.

She said: "Guru suffered from multiple myeloma for over a year. Accrued complications from this illness led to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest. As a result, Guru was in a coma from mid-February until his death and never regained consciousness. Early on the morning of 19 April, he became hypertensive due to low blood pressure. He again went into cardiac arrest and slipped away from us. Guru died far too young but he was, and we are, proud of all his many musical contributions."

She added that while the family are not aware of any charitable foundations established by Guru, fans wanting to pay their respects could expect details soon of "a memorial event that will be all-inclusive".

You have to respect a dying man's wishes though, if that's how he wanted then that's how it is man. Fucked or not, it was his dying wish. I don't know if we're being led to believe that or not, but Guru
had a voice too, and it seems that was he wanted.

You need to actually watch the videos and read the shit before you open your mouth.. he was in a COMA, he didn't have anything to say because he couldn't say it!

Host, read up on this guy Solar, you'll see where all the controversy is coming from

Here he tries to explain the letter, notice now he says "most of it is him, some of it I wrote from discussions with him, I can say like *pauses* for a 100 percent sure its him"...what a fraud

It's too delicate a subject for me to get involved man. I'm not his relative, nor are you.
You dont need to jump down my throat over something like this.
