| Coolness: 158925 | I'm thinking more along the lines of Noah being afraid of the buzz suing Antonino would create and the negative feedback it would give to [ rave.ca ] (like the website being more popular, thus more "observed" by legal sources), which is why he's using the old "copyright ain't right" speech.
However, since the movie is associated with [ rave.ca ] and that Noah is both publicizing and backing it, he doesn't understand that some people WILL spend money to go to court and WILL win and both Antonino and Noah will suffer in the process. Much as I like you, Noah, your view of copyright/copyleft won't save you from the law. I just hope you understand this before you get dragged along with it. |

The real tricky thing is finding a way to get him the fuck out of our parties without drawing attention to them; the last thing we need is undercover cops following him around to parties to catch him trying to get down with some minors, or throwing some undercovers into parties to try and bait him into it.. Now, I seem to remember that at one point he posted a picture of a cheque he'd received from some Canadian institute for movies or something like that, to help finance his independent movie. Now it stands to reason that this group/collective that represents independent Canadian film makers would not appreciate a controversy over having funded a movie where many of the filmed people specifically do NOT want to be in the movie, with unlicensed music, etc.. Would it not be possible to contact said organization and complain about this 'director' that they are financing, as well as express their concerns as to how he seems to be using his position as a film maker to try and take advantage of under-aged girls that are high? I'm certain no government-backed organization would want the kind of heat his "movie" could bring onto them.. They just need to be made aware of what's going on. |

I didn't see the movie yet (I'm not sure how some of you say you saw it already), only the trailers, but I'm pretty sure his goal is not to make people look bad. If you have 1000 hours of videos and need to put it into 1.5 hours (90 minutes), you only use the best parts of it... I doubt all the sketchy footage will be anywhere in the movie.
I've never seen such a bunch of paranoid people who are complaining over something so minuscule. We live in Canada here not the USA. I love how everyone is complaining about things they don't even know about. I'm sure if the NFB gave him funding, they have told him what he can and can't put in the movie. |

You need to start somewhere if you are to make a video. You need practice and the best way to do that is by trying, posting, getting people's comments and trying again...

Or maybe you did .. but you knew inside that is was wrong.. I think the conversation here is not about just bashing Anto (or maybe it is), but mostly a wake up call from our friend COMMON SENSE. Filming underage, half naked, ravers high on cocktails of drugs = bad. Harassing jailbaits with intention to have sex with them = bad. (its not just a sin, its a felony!) Ripping off tracks to put in movies without asking for permission = terribly bad. the list goes on .. but im sure we all got the point. |
