alright
so here is my problem i can put sounds from my turntable to my computer though the sound is super low since i have nothing to control the volume of my sounds so it makes them impossible to record (since you can't hear shit) i was wondering, is there anything where i could plug my turntable to it, and then plug the input wire that i already have from the "box" to my computer Im not using my turntable to DJ or anything, im just a big rock n roll fan and I use my turntable just to listen to my vynils, so i know Fuck All about "dj" equipement and shit thanks for your help, i am really looking just for something that will ONLY control the volume, i was hoping nothing too big and too expensive

what you need is a phono-specific pre-amp.. For one, the sound that comes out of a turntable isn't amplified, and also records are pressed a certain way, so they have no bass; the phono preamp fixes all of that and puts it back to normal..

what do you have your turntable plugged into when you listen to records now???
a mixer or a home stereo amplifier should do just fine... no need to go buy a preamp as long as your set up has a stereo out. turntabe--------------------> mixer or amplifier -------------> computer if your already doing this turn up the volume on your amp and check the volume of your line in on your computer.

yes, even an old amplifier from a home stereo will work :)
or an old mixer, also... you might find those on the sidewalk if you're lucky! or maybe by asking in here if anybody would be nice enough to give away such devices ;)
