yeah, LEDs last SO much longer and use way less electricity.. I mean why the fuck aren't they cheap/standard yet? I mean, to buy them in bulk for the general public comes to roughly 25$ for 50 of them.. I'm certain major manufacturers can get them for even less if they order a few million..

Basicly a quality LED, can be lower than a 1$ The trouble is; companies who make them for now won't let the price going down because they do a lot of money with... IE: the BD-ROM disk (blu ray media), they sale for over 7$ in quantiy of 1000 They can do like CDs-DVDs for less than 14 cents each... @ cost... They'r easy to make and cheap materials. (led or blu ray disk) By the way the life of a Comercial Projector, for the same price as a Regular bulbs (about 1200$) Between 20-45 000 Hours for a LED 4-6 000 Hours for a Regular bulb Originally Posted By nuclear

LED can dimm as regular light bulb, try it by yourself Go to addisson, get any dimmer and a cheap LED (like a power led on a pc) You will see, LED can easly dimm as regular light bulb Update » GKiLLAZ wrote on Wed Sep 16, 2009 @ 3:51pm About the price and infos => easy to find over Internet

With hydro you don't just pay for what you use... I was looking at my bill and they charge you $0.41 a day plus $0.055 cents per kWh of what you use. I didn't realize that until I looked closely at the bill... I thought you only pay for what you use. So even if you use no electricity, you will still pay 15$/month with tax...

I bought a 23 watt -> 100 watt dimmable light from zellers for 15$ and it works kind of... the problem is that when you put it on the lowest setting at first it will flicker... it's also a little big so i might need to buy a new light fixture for the ceiling... I only bought one of them but I will buy another very soon and then the whole apartement will be on those cheap lights. I'll let you know how it goes!
I think the 13 watt -> 60 watt bulbs are the best though. I don't think anyone really needs the 100 watt ones. They are really bright.

The 13 watt is pretty good and you can buy some version "cool blue" that will gave the color more white than beige. Originally Posted By nuclear

And about the bills, you'r right, they charge a minimum "before" the real use
