I really only know him from one mixtape I bought in Toronto back in 96 when it came out - DJ Slim - Hot Shit. it's fucking sick - and like a lot of my favourite mixtapes, somebody borrowed it many years ago and it's long gone anyway I had totally forgotten that name until I stumbled across his web page the other day. he's got that mix and a lot of more recent ones archived for download. I haven't checked the others, but Hot Shit is well worth a listen - got it playin now. some dope scratching on it [ www.spencemusic.com ] [ www.spencemusic.com ] just thought I'd recommend it cuz that mix brings back memories - one of those breakbeat mixes I gave a lot of play in my walkman - like DJ Czech - Bubbledub back in 94/95. I looked him up on youtube, and apparently he is a saxophone player, and plays that over electronic beats - interesting |

he's a good buddy of mine actually. he played at my birthday party a few years back at saphir and it was MADNESS... 5 decks... a wireless sax... reggie on the mic... mana on the cut... really one of those magical nights musically. last time i saw him was in t.o. and we got chased by a crack head for 3 blocks from the corner of queen and bathurst... too funny. now he's living in hong kong, scratching and playing tenor over house music 4 nights a week. |
