They use commodity PC's (mainly in 3d and some other stuff), and Mac Pros everywhere (they are cheap for 8-core workstations).. The most they would use any other OS for would be commodity boxes running linux to run renderman or something like that. If I were starting a design or multimedia firm it would be mainly macs (with good monitors like eizos) and some Windows based PC's for certain things like 3d modeling. |
