Usb Soundcards

 Coolness: 201945 | I was just checking out the USB m-audio audiophile soundcard that just came out, I am considering maybe getting it.. but I'm not sure about using a usb soundcard... as anyone else had any experiences with them ?
The main thing I like about it is that it's in a breakout box style.. which means easy access. |

but i wonder how the operating system uses it like how to do tell the os that the soundcard is connected to a usb port ? |

USB soundcards have been around for a little while now.. but aren't that common yet (except maybe with laptop users) |
