USPS charge taxes + 5$ and they will waive it under a certain point (20-30$).

UPS charge taxes + 25$ although you can go at the receiving terminal to claim and fill the forms yourselves so they're basically charging you 25$ for filing a paper, not only this but if you get a tracking number you'll see that, unless it's "lucky" enough to get verified the first time, they're taking the item back to the US until it get checked so that you're in that situation. Beyond a certain level of shipment, they won't charge you for border-crossing ; I'm not sure if it's express or priority, you could ask them. Personally, I avoid them as much as possible, I make sure to know the carrier beforehand and will take another item unless they charge like 20$ more ...

OH ! Another story about UPS, there's some ebay trend to lower the item price and heighten the S&H, often they round up about the same but the tricked one is more attractive. This is harmless in most cases but once the item was priced at some ridiculous amount like 1$ and they didn't believe it and opened the package, made an estimation of the product and charged them its taxes.

I don't know if UPS (sneaky bastards) or customs were at the origin of this mess but it's another reason to avoid them.

USPS and Canada Post has some sort of agreement with their own S&H. UPS is jealous of that, so they unjustly charges customers exorbitant price for lame things such as brokerage fee.
