Oh yes.

Is it strange of me that I find the most beautiful women are of mixed ethnicity?

Eurasians, mulattos, whatever. So hot.

I'm alway open for dialog but I'm sure most black peoples in Africa would agree.

One day, blacks in America will shed their victims attitudes, and appreciate the opportunity's before them. Then they will truly be free.

It's an offensive racially-charged term that a lot of white people still use, without understanding what it really means, or where it came from.

So they can say the "N word" as much as they like. anybody else saying it would be on thin ice... especially a white person

Not really, black people don't like other black people using that word and I as a human being do not appreciate it

When a black person uses the "n" word, they ARE using a RACIST term

I don't careif you're black, you still being a racist,

Therefore when I see a black person using the term I am a) sorry for them and b) now consider them a racist

P>S> White people didn't start slavery, white people weren't the only ones who used slavery either

It was prevalent in Africa (still is today) and the Middle East (still is today)

In fact most slaves that were brought to the Americas were bought in Africa FROM AFRICANS...yup

One tribe would conquer another tribe, ENSLAVE them and then sell them to the "white" man. Basically black people fucked over other black people

Its so sad to see so much racist language in the black community today, espcially hip hop

I hope Busta wises up

Any time I've ever said that on a forum everyone is all like "OMG that's so racist you're just like hitler only worse!"

Words only have power if you give them that power. As long as ANYONE (black, white, chinese, etc) says a word that people react negativley to, they are giving that word it's power.

Black people currently are ALMOST at the point where they need to get; they call each other niggaz all the time and it means a good thing (brother/friend/etc).. They've majorly dented the power behind the word, but then they go and flip out if anyone non-black says it and fall back on "OMG you're racist!"

Fag is another great example.. Over here calling someone a fag is a horrible insult, especially if they happen to someone that's actually gay! But in the UK a fag is a cigarette, and if you call someone a fag they'll just laugh at you (straight or gay)..

That's exactly what we need to strive for IMO.. If people don't totally flip out and get offended and sue or try to beat up someone for calling them something that's deemed offensive, then the words will lose the power that using them grants the person using it.

If a white racist redneck fuck goes around calling black people niggers and gets beaten up, they'll just be proving him and every other racist "right" in their own minds and that will justify them using it further.. But if the tables get flipped around and the black people don't react, or even instead just laugh at him and make him feel humiliated, they'll make him even more insecure as they'll have robbed him of his power to make others hurt.
I'm feeling like a drama magnet right now..

no man. I understood you.

you are drawing some sort of analogy between post-Holocaust Europeans and post-slavery African Americans

comparing people who should be ashamed of their past with a people who should be proud, in spite of it

that's why I found it absurd. ;)

I know. But it wasn’t Arabs or Africans who coined the word “nigger”, which is the topic at hand.

Well, it would be more accurate to say.. “some black people use that term, whereas some other black people frown upon it”. Otherwise it implies that these is a consensus amongst all black people, which as *some* black people have told me, is certainly not the case.

Some black people may use it ironically, to reclaim the word, others may use it very casually and not give a damn about the politics. Some may use the term African American, others not. Some are part of Nation of Islam, others would find the Nation’s views abhorrent.

so there really is no consensus.

I’m not denying that it could be negative for them call each other that. The thing is, it is not my place to judge how they define themselves. It’s a black thing. I’ve been around a lot of black people. I’ve had quite a few Jamaican, Guyanese or Trinidadian girlfriends.

So, I spent a lot of time hanging out with them and their families and friends. I was the only white person at the party many, many times. And from that experience, I know *very* well that they usually don’t appreciate “outsiders trying to relate to their struggle, or tell them what it is.

I once had a Jamaican guy tell me that Irish people and many West Indian Africans are linked. Linked through their shared history of being slaves in the same Caribbean plantations. I've also heard black people in New Orleans echo the same sentiment. It was very nice to hear, that he recognized the history and felt that bond. but *I* sure as Hell wouldn’t have brought that up out of the blue, and said our peoples were linked, you get me?

I just don't touch stuff like that. If they invite me to discuss it with them, fine. If they start hacking on people with white skin, I’ll invite myself. But otherwise, it’s not my place.

Thats why you gotta be smart,

Never use the word, and when a black person uses it

FLIP OUT! Start calling them a racist, get angry, ask them why they're hating on other human beings by using a racist term. Throw the whole racist number right back at him.

& Don't buy into the whole "we can use the word cause we're black" its fucking bullshit.

I mean if a jewish person showed up at a synagogue and started slurring jews, it wouldn't fly would it

Racism is racism

I'm not sure flipping out and calling people racists will get the point across though. :/

What about Busta saying " I love you, ni**a " ? Didn't sound like hate words to me.

man i feel bad referring my cousin as a "Mulatto" , i just told him were the word came from and he's not piss.

sad to say racism and fascism is still common in this society. words have pawer if you give a shit but lots of people are to gay to admit that they are afraid of something not familier and resolve to hatred.

I dunno about in a synagogue, but my dad works in the needletrade and about 9-10 years ago I Was helping him out and working with him, and honestly I heard more than a couple of jews greet each other jokingly by saying shit like "Saul, you fuckin' kike, how's it going!"

Of course if a non-jew said that they'd flip out (much like black people do with nigger)..

Bit it's not a black-exclusive thing by far, it's just that they're the ones that do it the most publicly.
