| i signed up ran thru the test level and was online in less than 20. plays just like q3 :D lots of different maps than the typical tho. And a few changes.. but thats awesome i used to map for q3.. pics in my gallery. Luv rocket jumping ! |

| oh shit, its changed since i tried getting on last time, i just openned er up and sure enough i was into gameplay pretty quickly...
but dont be fooled by the initial install file, cuz once you get started, it downloads a big file/plug-in that allows you to play the game...

| i played it for a bit the other day, but i think i rather playing "Soldier Front" still...
its also a free online game, except its just more realistic (real guns, countries etc)
i'm not knocking Quake tho, its a great game, just stating my preference...
I used to play Unreal Tournament online tho when i had a sega dreamcast lol, fun times... |

| My favorite online quake game is some relatively unknown Quake 2 mod called Action Quake 2. At the time it came out it was leaps ahead of everything else but was shadowed not long afterward by Half-Life Counter-Strike.
I loved this game so much that when people moved on and on late hours I'd be almost alone, I'd load one of the many maps of the uberPAK of The Action Quake 2 Map Depot [ aqmd.telefragged.com ] and browse around like I was on a mission or something.

Many games have advanced technically, graphically and otherwise, but the longevity of Action Quake 2 is due in large to the opinion that no game since its inception has captured the same 'feel'." hahaha I totally forgot about the 'kick wars' ! :D I wish I would've saved just a 10th of my games (small file size too) so I'd have dozens of hours to reimmerse myself. ;) |

| The best was the original Team Fortress for Quake.. Discovered with some friends that if we ran it with the command-line instead of just going into a game from Gamespy, we could play through the regular game in co-op with the classes from TF..
Stick it on Nightmare, 1 sniper, 1 soldier, 1 pyro and 1 medic going through the actual game... Was such a fucking blast! |
