I do have a problem with the over representation of hardcore and trance in raves There's lots of other good electronic music out there that dosen't get heard which is a shame Like ambient for example, what the fuck happened to the chill out rooms anyway? Bring back the ambient! |

...though i don't disapprove of any specific style of electronic music, it is true that there has been A LOT of either psytrance or happyhardcore, or even hardstyle, in the past year. raves are severely lacking in hardtechno, D'n'B, hardcore, dubstep, and electro... that's no to say any style is better...i think we could just use some variety :) |

The way I see it, our scene is divided in Trance, Hardcore, and the Hardhead DnB/Breaks crews. And people go to their respective themed parties without blending too much in other sub-scenes. Bringing in a majority electro, dub, freeform, acid, whatever, will result in an empty room because people won't go out of their ways to attend. For many, going it is a matter of social prestige and hobby rather than an appreciation of a particular music style. The most successful parties I've seen where built around that model, peppered with some less popular style that would also draw in the true hardcore fans (Acid at Destiny, etc.) |
