...and that's because there is a difference between electro and electro-house. :)

Electro-house is a bit faster and 4x4 beats than regular slower electro. At least, that's how I see it. : /
I'm feeling f**king pissed right now..

Yep. I'm finding I'm starting to own more electro-house than I do electro so I when I try to mix a few tracks together, the difference in pitch are pretty dramatic sometimes.

ahhaha same for me with breakz. Bassline house too is fucking slow.I push the bpm at max,but still it sounds good. It's only when i shuffle my tracks after on i-tunes i'M like oh god ,is that track really that slow. 135 bpm is where i love to be.135 FTW

i love 136 XD

hardcore: goes from 50 to 5000 bpm :) ...i like the range.

ideal line-up for me: breaks-idm / dubstep / big beat / hardtechno / hardcore (followed by more hardcore) / industrial / psy / ...end with hours of sonic youth/pixies/nirvana/soundgarden/etc.

remember that bpm isn't the only important thing when mixing styles, mood and 'style' matter too.
ie. breaks to d'n'b can work, or hardtechno to hardcore.

(imo :p )

We have a winner!I'M happy you talk about the mood and style matter.BPM is not the only factor of a nice line-up. I've opinionated the other day about that.LIke Putting breakz and then psy ( or the opposite ) back to back.I always find it wierds.Yes the bpm are close but it's 2 totally differents crowds and style. so People now instead of putting dnb after breakz exemple ,they put psy than at 5 am dnb next to happy hardcore etc.. I don't understand. In 2 rooms it's ok to blend the style, but in a one room party i'm sceptical. But we can talk about this hours and hours.
I'm feeling woooooble! right now..

i don't know what you're talking about Deadfunk... big beat for me is: chemical brothers, prodigy, leftfield, etc. ... i'd even throw some underworld, FSOL, and certain aphex twin, in there :)

Then of course there are UK producers who make a completely different style of hardcore (Teknoist, Hellfish, etc), and calling that UK hardcore would also be accurate.

I second that!

Some songs coming out today are just plain Happy Hardcore like it used to be, and some others just followed different influences.

your typical Happy Hardcore track, recent engineering. I know, the random video is even cheesier than the song :P

another recent, but quite different track. still happy hardcore!
I'm feeling motivated right now..

what x-actly was x-treme about that last track? :p

so they switched the labeling from Happy to UK...

well, the happy kids are upset about being called 'happy', meanwhile the hardcore kids are upset about the happy kids being called 'hardcore' :D

well, id consider both track (in matricks post) to be "uk hardcore" more than "happy hardcore"

and the 2nd even more, its in a minor scale, nothing sounding happy about that!
Update » Deadfunk wrote on Thu Apr 30, 2009 @ 5:56pm
the problem i find with calling it "happy" hardcore, is that you are being limited to sounding "happy"

that mean no minor scales, no dramatic/sad melodies, which is now current money in uk hardcore...

so why should one call a genre happy when its not happy all the time

its like saying, "hey, im in a metal bad, we are composed of trumpets, sax, violins and contrabass"
well, that looks more like jazz to me than metal!
I'm feeling hardcore right now..
