Coolness: 84800	i find it intriguing that they don't mention all the Islamic ppl who cry racism to north american banks claiming it's "against their religion" to pay interest on their homes here in north america. both systems have their advantages and disadvantages. but from what i hear from my friends in the middle east, the arab world is hardy immune to the economic crisis... there is hard times going on over there as well. but it is an interesting approach indeed... and what it still comes down to in the end is the rich getting richer and the poor staying poor. like c'mon now... sure you might not being paying interest... but you're not gaining it either. and islamic banking doesn't exactly put a stop to INFLATION. so if you do got money banked it's pretty much just evaporating by sitting there. i personally think you gotta take risks sometimes and it's just up to you to try and take the most educated ones. i have nothing against the islamic banking system though. it's just another business like any other i personally feel that there is plenty of room for both systems and having the right to choose what works best for you is a clear advantage of democracy. i do however find it rather disappointing though, that as a culture we are so stupid that we only look at these options in a time of crisis. anyway... thats my 2 cents... but wtf do i know... i'm hardly a Rockefeller.
