as an aside, I wonder what the effect of seeing all types of brutality on the internet will have on young peoples' minds. must have some kind of desensitizing warping effect when i was a kid they would never even show something like this on the news. it would be considered far too traumatizing. now people can casually watch all kinds of fucked up shit on the net as many times as they choose. can't be a good thing |

Should we keep our heads firmly planted deep in the earth and avoid everything negative going on in this world ? Fucked up and frankly downright evil shit happens on a daily basis, depressed husbands murdering their families, high school killings, people being tortured in asian prisons, 13 year old coked up children in Africa with AK-47 killing each other for diamonds so many innocent people dying bullshit middle-eastern holy wars. Should we not acknowledge any of this ? Should we just watch reality shows, eat McDonalds, listen to our iPods, hear no evil, see no evil and continue living in our fairy make-believe world where nothing bad happens to anyone ? Dunno about you but as depressing as this is, you need stuff like that to see all the good people can do in return. |
