Much as I'm going to sound like a dick, yes it DOES look cool, but it doesn't look much different than every other bit of psy-deco I've ever seen.

Dunno what you can do to change it, if anything, but IMO, triangle-y shapes with circle holes has been done to absolute death, much like camo/millitary stuff/camo netting has been to jungle parties.

u dont sound like a dick.. :D

I did just get one idea, but I think you'd need a hell of a lot more fabric (and room, unless you're good at planning and work things out mudularly and work on one module at a time) is that you could do something in that style, but have it be like a fort (for lack of better explaining)

like not just have it hanging from the ceiling, but have it reaching down and onto the dancefloor and create little "comparment" areas.. Don't really know how to describe it well, but that's about the only original thing I could think of to do in that style of deco..

I mean, yeah you've got different coloured fabrics and all, but that style of deco has been done so much.. No matter what you do, it's not original in the sense that everyone's seen a hundred and one parties with exactly the same style of deco..

I wish I had something more constructive to suggest, but personally that style of "psy-deco" is totally played out.. Think up something original that no one has abused to death yet.. Obviously, that's easier said than done.. If you've got material to make frames (metal wire or something) maybe something involving patterns of circles? Maybe try and re-create some optical illusions in 3D...

dude you read my mind, making the immersive deco thing has been on my mind for a long time, ive only recently after two years+begun collecting materials again... hopefully ill have impresive styles by the time of my major gigs this year. Back to the beat was the first chance i had in years to do so again.

this one for example was code radar, besides this year, the last time i did deco...

my work is the "rain" on the ceiling.. its a sweet effect that you dont really get teh feel fro unkes youre under it sorta like this:

and this

Thats one part of what im workin on, but i still need a lot more black stretchy to kake the effect REALLy immersive.

As for the compartmentalized idea, yeah, thats SWEET as a concept, it means in part, wood floors are necessary for stapling the fabrics down, and planning it out so the maximum space is available for dancing without the deco being obtrusive/in the way.

Dig thru this gallery for my stuff btw. 5 pages oldest to newest

That's pretty cool.. There's this fabric, I dunno if my dad still makes it (but it's pretty expensive) that's fucking awesome and would look great for parties.. It's not UV reactive, it's black, but it's like glittery.. It's not glitter on it, but like threads of different shades of silver woven through it.. (my dad is in the needletrade, these days he does mostly soccer jersy fabric though)

here's an old pic of me wearing a shirt made of the stuff:

Last I remember though it's something like $8.50/m and he can't make smaller batches than 400m..
