Instead of banning, why not warn abusive users and deal out penalties like... 'can't start new thread for one week'... |

| Coolness: 510485 | No, but it would improve upon the current system. I mean, it's unreasonable to ban someone if they haven't posted right? A very easy condition could code wide assure that rule be upheld. If you are going to have a banning system and banning use regulations, it makes sense to use technology to give the feature some robustness. |

 Coolness: 167470 | well, i went over all this kind of shit in the 'guidelines' but either people dpn't care, or they don't like reading for more than 30 seconds, or they'd rather rate the thread boring because they feel tageted by it all...just goes to show.
at this point if ppl would rather act like dicks and look like pussies, let 'em. they think they're tough by banning ppl and all, but in the end they're the ones who look stupid. we all know who the the problematic users are anyways... maybe we might as well not have banning at all :\ |

| Coolness: 510485 | that's one possibility yes. But the other more important logical fact that you're missing is that if someone doesn't post, there's absolutely no reason they should be banned. Therefor, you're preventing thread creators from banning for no reason. There could even be a system to contest said banning which could result in the banner being penalized.
So I say we hire a full time [ rave.ca ] moderator office. We can offshore it to China and get it real cheap! |

For the most part I think these fascist banning discussions are boring and redundant I like the ways things are now, if you don't want someone trolling your thread its great to be able to prevent them from continuing (like in the case where I justifiably banned Na to avoid another useless fight) At the end of the day it minimizes the drama which has gone down considerably in the last little while which is great! the fact that there's less drama 'cause you ban 4 to 7 users from your threads says a lot. you're pretty much the only person that does that. draw your own conclusions. |

it hardly EVER happens, when it does its because its neccessary na's just sore cause he got banned from one of my threads. When I asked him to apologize for his behavior so I could unban him, he said I was INSULTING him!!! ? |
