yup - I get those every couple days - mostly they go straight to the junk mail
here's one I got recently... Reply From: Aloysius Tse (mr.aloysius10@wp.pl) You may not know this sender.Mark as safe|Mark as junk Sent: March 9, 2009 1:03:23 PM To: I am Mr Aloysius, I've in my bank deal worth $26m to transact with you. Reply for more details. Best regards,Aloysius H Y Tse.Director/Audit CommitteeWing Hang Bank (Hong Kong). ------------ back in like 97, some weird foreign number showed up on my pager .. I looked up the area code and it was Dominican Republic... I had heard about scams originating from that country so I knew what was up what they do is page somebody, and the person calls this strange number, wondering who the hell is trying to get a hold of them. the person who answers tells them it is a hospital and they have a relative of theirs who has had a very serious accident, and then ask them to hold. after keeping them on hold for 20 minutes or so, they come back online and tell them it has been a mistake - wrong person - and they hang up. then, when the person gets their phone bill, they find out the number they called was charging them some outrageous fee per minute - directly into the scam artist's pocket. scumbags. unfortunately some people are gullible enough to fall for these scams. if they spam a few million people, there will be a few shmucks who fall for it, and get parted from their money |
